In the "Account Alert" that appears when you're in your Bublup space, it says that as of Dec. 1 the free account will have limited functionality. And then spell that out:

By the way, I just got an email from Walling offering a 50% off black Friday sale on the premium edition. Although, when I clicked on the link to "claim" my discount, I didn't find access to the disco...
Yes, Walling and Milanote are similar to Bublup in a lot of ways. I'm not sure how their free plans stack up against what Bublup used to offer free. The paid versions are very nice, but about the same...
My feelings as well. Bublup has a lot of potential, but it still needs some features for me to be willing to pay for it. The note feature, especially is very weak. This is just another app that isn't ...
For me, I have to travel back in time to the days of DOS and the fantastic outliner Grandview. I don't believe any application developed since then matches Grandview feature for feature, although the ...

This is also my general approach to tags.

1 Diagramming software like Scapple, but with notes connectable to multiple parts of the map?

If I understand your question, I think Scrintal or Heptabase can do this.

Actually it was from 2015... something I hadn't noticed at first, because Medium usually doesn't show me articles that old.

A critique of tagging

I found this critical dissection by Tiago Forte of the problems with tagging interesting:

It reflects what I've long felt about tagging,...
This is an excellent question. I am not a very disciplined note-builder, so I may not be the best example, but I can't really think of any apps that have helped me develop my thinking or ideas in unex...
Brainstorm was mentioned recently in a thread. Today I learned of an app called Stashpad. Looking at a demonstration made me think Stashpad is similar in many ways to Brainstorm:

Noteliner was a fine app. The funny thing was the developer -- if I recall right, his name is Sam Hawksworth -- used Macs, but he developed Noteliner for Windows. I tried to talk him into making a Mac...
If I understand your question accurately, I think you can do this in Scrintal. You select the notes you want and create a new board with them. You don't have to name the board, it will automatically b...

My mental jury is still out on whether Scrintal will evolve into an app that I found useful for my needs. However, I do admire the work they are doing. This article by Ece Kural, a co-founder of Scrin...
Yes, that's a major issue. The desktop versions do a lot with linking, pretty impressively. I would expect them to make links work at some point in the web version.

The AI is functional in the current web version of TheBrain, and it is impressive. I haven't had a need to use it much, but I have experimented with it. Once they've integrated the tech into the deskt...

Heptabase - Crimp cured?

Thank you for the thorough overview of Heptabase and why it works for you. I've been impressed by the software for a while. The feature set is pretty remarkable. I haven't gone all in with Heptabase, ...

Another followup on Mymind. One of the advantages is that you just save anything into Mymind without having to think about it. That's why it works as an Evernote replacement for me. The search is very...

Mymind does not have folders. It does have tags, and it has a feature called Spaces, which is basically a saved search, but acts somewhat like a folder. Here's video about Spaces:

Hi, Ken,
So I started a free account with Bublup, and so far I like it. It seems pretty easy to use. I too like Walling, but for the heck of it I copied details for our upcoming vacation into Bublup....

Have never heard of it before, either. It's a little hard to tell exactly how it works from the website, but it reminds me of Mymind.
SheetPlanner 4.0 Release

You've done a great job with Sheet Planner. Congratulations. I'd use it if my office was equipped with Macs instead of PCs.
