Notejoy
2/5/2019
Just to clarify, Notejoy does use encryption. From their website:
"Notejoy protects your data through robust encryption. All web, desktop, and mobile clients leverage SSL/TLS 1.2 to communicate with ...
Notejoy
2/4/2019
Looking at Notejoy again today I noticed that they recently added a "Solo" plan, for people who don't need collaboration. It's $4 per month, which seems very reasonable. Some features of Notejoy that ...

I see that Skywatcher mentioned this app in the poll thread I started, but other than that I don't think it has had much attention here, so I thought I'd start a new thread about it.
I just watched a...
Apps that offer cloning of notes
1/30/2019
So I was just trying to explain cloning of notes to the developers of Agenda and I wanted to give examples of apps that offer that feature. The only one I could come up with is Tinderbox. I am sure th...
Thanks, Paul. That answers part of what I was trying to learn. Just to be clearer -- if that's possible -- I am wondering about the flexibility of dedicated GTD apps in general. Will they provide effe...
Question... both specific to Everdo, but also a general inquiry... how does an app built specifically for the Getting Things Done method scale for people who aren't married to GTD? I've wondered this ...
MacJournal

I found this information on the Mariner website:
Begin quote:
Several services exist on the Internet that make it possible to share/sync data between two computers. The only sync service that MacJou...
MacJournal
1/26/2019
Oddly, the Help documentation for MacJournal 6 has a chapter on "Exporting and Syncing" with no mention at all about syncing in it. There also is no mention of iCloud in the Help documentation, if the...
MacJournal

Thanks, Paul.
This news coudn't come at a more opportune time, as I've recently recommitted myself to relying on MacJournal as my main writing app. It's not where I'd try to write a novel or long-for...

That's great news. Do you have any idea when the upgrade will drop?
Thank you.

When I first switched back to Mac about ten years ago, one of the first apps I bought was Circus Ponies Notebook. From the outside, it looked so enticing. I soon found that it didn't fit my needs as w...
Sorry, Ken, and thanks for letting me know. That helps a small amount with the Mac vs. Windows imbalance.

As I called this thread at the start a "sort of poll," I feel I should tally the "results." I put results in quotes, because this is really a very superficial analysis of the responses. If someone sai...
It isn't particularly intuitive, but once you get the way it works, it is pretty simple.

You can create undated pages. They call them "Sticky" tabs. They stay open and available whatever date you're on. You can create sections to store the sticky pages, but you can't nest the pages themse...
The Journal is a good app, although I'm not crazy about its editor.
Take a look at iDailyDiary. I believe it does most of what you're looking for:

Taskade

For what it is worth, Taskade looks like a fine management tool. At the moment I am committed to some other services, so I won't be switching, but I will consider it in the future.

There is a great deal to admire about Agenda, starting with its unique approach to date-oriented information management. The iOS app is very well designed to follow the functionality of the Mac versio...
Hi, Beck,
I think I gave the wrong impression about Dynalist. I love it. What I was refering to is that it doesn't have automated options the way a full-blown task manager would. Functions such as sh...
Beck,
I agree completely. Notes and tasks should be separate but equal, and be able to be associated. For instance, the minutes of a meeting will probably generate several tasks... those tasks should...
I work on Windows, Mac and iOS, but the inquiry is meant to be broad and not restricted to any platform. I just want to know what people here are using for managing their tasks. I am just curious... a...
I have been checking out a lot of different task management apps to start the new year. I'm not even really sure I want to switch, but I just get this feeling there is a better option out there. (I mo...

If the ability to write longer texts outweighs the need for an agile hierarchy builder, I'd suggest you also consider Scrivener.
A dark horse option, not dissimilar to Scrivener, is Atomic Scribbler...

Holiday discount on Curio

Hi, Donovan,
OneNote would definitely be the closest thing to Curio for PC. Many years ago I wrote a review of Curio 6.4 for the now defunct site Mac AppStorm. I ended the review suggesting that Curi...
