Using Aquaminds Notetaker (Mac) again
6/24/2016
Do you synchronize Notetaker between computers? If so, how does it do?
Also, do you take notes on a mobile device and transfer into Notetaker? Again, if so, what is your system?
Thanks!

Learning there is some life at Micro Logic is like that time I saw Abe Vigoda in a new TV show when I had thought he'd died ten years earlier.
The list of new features sounds impressive. The price i...
Organizing Thousands of Quotes

Another possibility to consider is CintaNotes:

You'd have to devise a tagging scheme to organize by topic/category and author, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

I agree that Connected Text would be fine for this job. But there are so many possible factors that might influence what the best application would be, so I'll suggest that you also look into Zoot and...

OneNote is a great choice, though it doesn't exactly fit your qualification as being a lightweight resource.
I'd also like to offer a different solution: Scrivener

What I like about this implementation is that you can apply the check boxes on an item by item basis. Many outline apps force you to choose...
Outliner with symbolic links

It's not technically an outliner, but TheBrain is great with giving nodes multiple places to appear. While the full version is on the expensive side, there is a free version that is quite functional.

Thank you for the responses.
I have been trying to avoid leaving the iCalendar ecosystem entirely for two reasons. First, I just like it and am used to it. It works flawlessly and I've come to rely o...

Omniflow.io becomes Dynalist.io

Thanks for the confirmation, Jaslar. That, unfortunately, makes Dynalist a non-starter with me. Perhaps it will come around.

Omniflow.io becomes Dynalist.io

I appreciate getting word of Dynalist. Looks interesting. I like that you can break up your outlines into separate documents. One issue I've come across is that the folder/document pane does not respo...
One version of Outlinely is now free

Outlinely is now in version 2. The developer has added a library/folder interface which seems handy. A non-library edition is available for free. Check it out on the App Store.

Circus Ponies suddenly ceased business

An app that could have had the potential to replace Circus Ponies Notebook's outlining capability was Note Suite, which sadly has also gone belly up. But I found it an excellent outliner. Similar in s...
An alternative to Circus Ponies Notebook

I second the suggestions of Curio and OmniOutliner and would just add that you should also take a look at GrowlyNotes and Outline (although these latter too may be too much like OneNote).

Small consolation, but at least FetchNotes exit was a bit more graceful than Circus Ponies Notebook.

Day One 2 available on Thursday

As someone who finds utility with Day One, $25 in total to update on both OSx and iOS seems fair and reasonable to me. I don't want the developer to go belly up like so many others, so I'm happy to su...
