A search on this site for the word "Cling" produces a lot of the verbs, but I didn't see any nouns -- but if this was already discussed, I apologize for the redundancy.
Anyway, I ran across this new cloud-based notes and project manager app and thought it was interesting enough to share with everyone. It is a little Trello-like, but seems more fluid, and adaptable. For now it is free. There will be a premium plan, but I don't know the cost. Just for the record, I am not recommending this. I tried it out enough to be intrigued, but I have no idea how it is while heavy lifting of notes and projects.

Very interesting. I'm giving it a spin and it's actually quite good. Thanks for sharing!

Steve, Are you still using this?
I signed up on March 7 with a free account and have used it to look around — and enough to be impressed.
However...
Am I being too hard on these people to feel put off by this email in the early morning of March 11th? Keep in mind, I just signed up on Thursday night and I get this on Monday morning:
———————-
Hi Mike,
you recently signed up, but have not used Cling since. What a bummer. I am really eager to know the reasons. I have 3 possible explanations:
- Cling does not provide the features you think it should.
- Cling has bad usability or lacks features.
- Something did not work.
Anyhow, I would be really happy if you took the time, replied to my email and told me your thoughts. This would help a lot.
Warm regards,
Andreas

3 possible explanations? How about...
I signed up, I like the app, I expect to use it, I even placed a link on my start page, but.... I have a life offline! To write me 3 1/2 days after I sign-up and sound offended because I haven’t been back, calls it “a bummer” and claims he only has three explanations, and wants me to let him know why. Really?

I get those automated emails occasionally from well-meaning but over-zealous developers. You ought to reply and tell the developer exactly what you just told us. Good test to see how he takes criticism!

I haven't been using Cling. Not because I don't like it, but because I am already using Trello and a couple of other apps. I will be keeping an eye on Cling to see how it develops. I wouldn't be put off by the email... it seems like he genuinely wants your input. Funny though, if I got the same email, I didn't notice it.

Thanks for pointing us to Cling.
Regarding the topic of over-eager follow-up emails, perhaps I am in the minority, but I have zero tolerance for unsolicited, generic follow-up emails for software, no matter how well written and intentioned. But rather than be bothered about it, I simply do all software sign-ups with an alternative email address that I almost never check. (Granted, occasionally I encounter a still-unreleased software project that sounds so exciting that I sign up for news with my main email address.)

The fact is that some of the most valuable feedback from developers comes from users who are pissed and want to move away. You have to try and catch them as soon as possible. For Desktop programs i added some uninstall feedback popup in the past. I know this is not the nicest behaviour but it helped me.
On the other hand (i know Cling is from a german company) US customers should be used to it. Isn't it the same experience as in every restaurant in the states where you can't relax and eat because the waitress approaches you every 5min and interrupts you?
