Thank you for posting about your writing app. I am trialing MDash (I like the name). There is a lot to like, including the pricing. I do have one quibble: I would like to have some control over the lo...
Just to complete the list of all the possible "notebook" metaphor apps, there is also Notetaker 5, which dates from the 2000s. It is still sort of kept current by the developer, Aquaminds. It along wi...
OneNote would be great if Microsoft had just stopped messing with it after about 2010.
Makes me ask, "Who will do the innovating, if everyone is just imitating?"
The name "Understory" is clever... the ground cover beneath a tree!

Thanks for the nice comment, Paul. Also, I agree completely about George Browning.

I recently published an overview of Curio 34 on my Medium channel. Those of you familiar with Curio, probably won't learn anything new, but those curious about the app might be interested. You'll find...
Novelist -- Another writing app

Up front, I haven't even downloaded this app, so this is in no way a recommendation. But we've been listing a lot of new writing apps here, so I thought I'd mention this one:

How do you check for this?
Thanks.

Here I am trying to whittle down the number of apps I use, and everyone keeps leading me to enticing new apps! (Really, though, thank you.)
FoldNotes

One advantage of FoldNotes over MojoPad (which is amazing) is that FoldNotes has iOS versions. I don't think MojoPad does as yet, though I am sure they are on the horizon.
How outlining changes in AI times?

In retirement now, I intend to start writing book-length pieces, and I do not intend to use AI directly. Seems impossible to avoid AI altogether; I mean search engines are using it, right? But if I wa...

The number of writing apps now available is nice, but perhaps a bit overwhelming. How to choose the best one for your own style? Does anyone have any concern for the longevity of free apps?
FoldNotes

I see that the official version of Fold Notes is out of beta. Has anyone who has been using Fold Notes have any insights about it?
Thanks for sharing your process with us. I haven’t used outlines for writing in a while, so take my comments with a grain of salt. But I don’t think you should worry too much about how much or how lit...

Curio, unfortunately, doesn't have mobile apps. I'm not sure if there is a workaround for sharing Curio data with your phone or tablet.

Have you looked at Noteey? It is offline, but has MacOS and iOS versions. It does have an AI feature, but I think it only acts locally when you request it to... but who knows.

I was thinking of Airtable as a suggestion. It is very powerful, but pretty easy to use. But Airtable does have an AI called Omni. Airtable has financial institutions as customers, so I bet that data ...
Walling being rebranded as Walling.io

Good question. I will say this for them, unlike many other "developers" who took over a mature product with promises of further development, the new owners of Walling do seem to have tried to make goo...
Walling being rebranded as Walling.io

It seems like the long-awaited resurrection of Walling is here. It is being rebranded as Walling.io. I am unsure in what ways it differs from the original Walling, though it is a little more expensive...

I don't blame you for trying to avoid AI. I am too, although more because I fear it will make me a lazy thinker than for security, though there is that too. Can you tell us more about your needs. Are ...

Yes, it is inspiring to see Curio continue to evolve. I wrote about version 8 in 2012 for the defunct review site Mac Appstorm. I'm planning an article on Medium to continue the discussion of Curio.
