Ulysses v15 Released
3/12/2019
I'd have to agree with Hugh that Ulysses, powerful though it is, has some slightly disappointing limitations.
I'm especially disappointed by the lack of linking, and the lack of folding.
It's an att...
Creating your own with TapForms, would be my advice (no subscription, macOS/iOS support)

Dang, it's free! How could any red-blooded CRIMPer resist!?!
Ulysses v15 Released

Still no linking to notes? That's a shame. Still, I shall evaluate with interest.
Ah, I hear you, pal! That magic moment when you discover something completely unexpected on one of the App Stores, either in the form of a major update or a brand-new app you've never heard of before!...
Simplenote

Hm, that's quite cool. I don't use SimpleNote much, but having a "quickie" task platform would be useful, prior to transferring the task to DynaList.
Dang, that's actually quite inspiring!
Thanks for sharing.
Nimbus Note - Worth a look
3/8/2019
Interesting question, Donovan. I did try NimbusNotes not long after it first appeared, and liked it very much. But at that point, they were still a bit chaotic, in that it wasn't clear to me - or even...
Okay, so following my interesting but time-consuming Numbers experiment, I have to admit that I've now switched to... DynaList!
I've become a reluctant but increasingly enthusiastic user of DynaList,...
Rediscovering FoxTrot Pro

PDF Search looks pretty darn good, actually - and there's a free trial. Oh dear. To CRIMP or not to CRIMP, that's the question... on the other hand, a free trial...
Rediscovering FoxTrot Pro

DEVONthink Pro does have a great concordance function, it's true. But having rediscovered FoxTrot Pro, I'm wondering why I allowed myself to forget it in the first place!

Ah, thanks for that, Paul. I'll take another look at my setup - could well be it needs optimising.
Rediscovering FoxTrot Pro

Okay, this is aimed exclusively at Mac users, because alas, FoxTrot is Mac-only. But it's a little eulogy for this really very impressive program, which is the Mac's answer to that most august and pot...
NotePlan iOS

He's got some lovely ideas - he was kind enough to send me a draft screenshot. It's going to look as good on Mac as it does on iOS!
POLAR

No, I took note of your warning and intriguing though the app is, haven't taken the risk of installing it.
You're right that it's all too easy to be lulled into trusting developers who may not have y...

POLAR

Hm, interesting, washere. I assume you've discovered this spyware by testing the app?
The GitHub site looks fairly innocuous (https://github.com/burtonator/polar-bookshelf), and the product looks qui...
"Seeking the productive life"

Well, Wolfram's astonishing personal archive, file/ing systems and discipline have made me feel very inadequate. True, I have records going back decades, but nothing like his furiously integrated, mas...

Wow, his preferred method of collaborating with his staff looks very cool (Wolfram Notebooks – more at http://www.wolfram.com/presenter-tools/), but it's also rather expensive, even for purely p...
"Seeking the productive life"

Fellow forum members who are interested in life management (and let's face it, that's part of the appeal of CRIMPing, in that CRIMPers are ultimately seeking to manage their lives) might find some use...

Migrate from Dynalist to Outlinely
2/28/2019
Outlinely is very good, but ironically, I find I've moved the other way, from Outlinely to Dynalist. Why?
Because Outlinely is a subscription app, and I'm now trying to remove as many subscriptions a...

Oh dear, it's sad to see this promising little project mired in such silliness.
I suggest it's time for us all to step back and reflect on an app that was, in its time, truly revolutionary, but now, ...
