Hi Ken,
Thanks for the tip, and indeed, I keep a close eye on MLO - but alas, they haven't released a Mac version yet. They're thinking about it, however...
Andrew,
Thanks for the Chrome extension ...
Even better, the web page thus generated preserves the folding/unfolding behaviour of Todoist itself, so each parent task has a little arrow next to it. So you generate complete, folding outlines from...
Following on from my musings under Remember The Milk (RTM), I've copied over my last post to a new topic:

Stimulated by my last thought, I’ve just had a quick sniff at Todoist again (must ...

Stimulated by my last thought, I've just had a quick sniff at Todoist again (must get back to work, really!), and yes, it could indeed by used as a fairly powerful outliner.
The only downside is exp...

Having shelled out GBP 27 or so for the Pro version, I continue to be impressed by RTM, although it does have a couple of weaknesses.
First, subtasks are very cool. They are infinitely hierarchisable...

Virtual machines for CRIMPers
2/8/2016
Yes, indeed - Parallels is notorious for needing a lot of RAM. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's extremely good, but if you haven't got a solid 16GB, it's going to be... sedate, is perhaps the best wor...
Interesting. Well, the new version looks pretty cool. A kind of combo of all the best bits from e.g. Wunderlist, DoItIm, TickTick and various others.
It's a huge improvement over the previous version...

Veertu does sound fascinating - I shall certainly experiment.
Crossover I've got, and don't rate very highly, to be honest. I'm sure there's stuff it works well with, but it doesn't work with the app...
Day One 2 available on Thursday

Yup, tried again yesterday afternoon, all went very smoothly. Just one of those little glitches.
Day One 2 available on Thursday

Well, first impressions are very positive - and Day One Two (unconscious irony there, perhaps?) is an attractive piece of software with enough enhanced features to be worth the 2.0 upgrade.
However, ...

I have to agree with Franz. Mac and iOS developers have an increasingly hard time making money out of the Apple Store (especially for Mac), with no support for upgrades and irritating foibles like "fa...

Card-based productivity software

Thanks, Steve. It's the one thing that's driven me away from some really excellent task managers, from OmniFocus (which does at least support rich-text notes, but has such a clunky structure in iOS!) ...

Just to add my two'a'porth. Yes, I love kanban managers, and use Trello extensively with my team. As others here have said, Trello's major weakness is its lack of an overview function (covering all bo...
Yet another Markdown editor...

All this talk of LightPaper has reignited my interest - I confess I've been using Ulysses and LetterSpace (much) more frequently in the recent past.
Well! Imagine my surprise, upon visiting the webs...

I love your point about excluding 35-year-olds, though.
But I suppose they would argue that after your 35th birthday, you're technically over 35 (i.e. in your 36th year).
An amusing thought, neverth...

Indeed. And some unexpected news about OmniOutliner, which is about to become a "new" Markdown editor. From DaringFireball.net:

MindNode as outliner

Hm, well, reinforcing somebody else's (sorry, can't remember whose, off hand) point about using mindmappers as outliners, the developers of MindNode have just released updated MacOS and iOS versions t...
Cloud Outliner 2 for OS X

Your mentions of mind-mapping apps have reminded me of an app that is iOS/Mac-compatible, and used to be a really good halfway house between mindmapping and outlining: MagicalPad
Alas, in the jump to...

I agree about open file formats - very much, in fact.
But not so sure about "complicated". I don't need complicated, but I do look for a few things:
- modest rich text support (bold, italics, ideally...
Cloud Outliner 2 for OS X

There's still a dearth of really good outliners for MacOS and iOS. There are excellent outliners for one or the other, but very few for both. Cloud Outliner 2 is okay, but clearly giving some people p...

Yo Paul - you'll find it in the Mac App Store. Actually, more recently, I've started using App for Trello. It's simply an encapsulated Safari/Webkit page holder, but it lurks in the menu bar and gives...
There is something very beguiling about Trello. I've just discovered a rather neat Mac OS X app that makes it even more beguiling: Lists.
It's not perfect, but it's a very pleasant, lightweight compl...
