Interesting news of brand-new features in Word, including an Editor and a Researcher.
The former acts as a kind of super grammar checker, the latter as a replacement for Google search and citation managers combined.
There are other interesting additions to the Office suite, notably PowerPoint and Outlook. More at VentureBeat here: http://venturebeat.com/2016/07/26/microsoft-word-researcher/
As Microsoft does its (fairly impressive) best to totally dominate the office app space.

Thanks Bill.
I’ll be interested in particular in the new functionality of the Editor feature. I imagine that MS has seen the development of new apps and services like Hemingway and ProWritingAid, and has wanted to prevent them invading its patch.
However, whether MS really has succeeded in cracking the English-language grammar-, idiom- and style-checking issue on desktop computers - especially the problem of false negatives - well, I remain to be persuaded.
