Still Looking for Pocket Alternative
9/4/2025
Also have a look at Wallabag (https://wallabag.org/), Readeck (https://readeck.org/) and Karakeep (https://karakeep.app/).
I can only highly recommend MyLifeOrganized.
Obsidian with the Tasks plugin is also a valid option, though very different.
Pocket is closing down

That is disappointing. Sure, I didn't use Pocket any more since I noticed the enshittifaction process a long time ago, I liked it while it was still called ReadItLater.
I find the reasoning a bit str...

When it comes to searching files on Windows, also have a look at "Everything" https://www.voidtools.com/
MyInfo Is My Choice

That's true, Daly. There are many forms of ADHD, with and without hyperactivity. I also know ADHDers who refuse to even use a calendar software, because they feel too pressured by it. Even if it would...
MyInfo Is My Choice

Many ADHSers are using Obsidian. See for example the YouTube videos from Bryan Jenkins.
MyInfo isn't terrible, but it does feel somewhat outdated. It's a desktop application with a proprietary format...

The early EverNote had this already 25 years ago efore they started the enshittification process.

Sorry, this was meant as a reply to the Evernote thread, not to open a new thread.
Evernote export
12/18/2023
The strategy I used was to export every note twice, once as the HTML copy including the rich formatting from Evernote, and another one converted to Markdown with a link to the HTML note. I moved the H...

Also a reminder that Obsidian can now import from Evernote :)
Alexander: Obsidian can now import Evernote, you may want to try that. However, with that many notes you may consider not migrating them all, or migrating the older ones or certain tags that you don't...
Some more really good ones that should be mentioned in this context:

Obsidian Make.md
5/8/2023
Make.md is nice, but the spaces add yet another level of complexity. And I think with the new (builtin) bookmark plugin you can do pretty much the same as with spaces.

XYplorer Black Friday Sale
11/26/2022
XYPlorer is cool, but one problem is that it's an old 32bit VB6 application, and it is questionable how long VB6 will be supported - it's kind of a dead end. Two years ago, the author had planned to m...

"Everything" (https://www.voidtools.com/) is another tool similar to UltraSearch, also free, and it also accesses the MFT.
Would be nice to see Freeter become available again.
I can recommend SuperProductivity as an alternative solution, though with somewhat different focus. It also supports "bookmarks" (links or command...
Daly, I agree that there should be more explicit and upfront explanation of such questions. Unfortunately, many users don't seem to care nowadays.
According to their privacy policy (link at the botto...
