Interesting product -- Freeter.
https://freeter.io/download
It's basically a configurable container on the desktop that has windows for local resources (e.g., folders in the file system) and web resources and widgets -- e.g, WorkFlowy, GoogleDocs, and so on. Check out the examples -- and there's a YouTube video overview that goes into depth on how to set it up. The idea is to create a container for each "project" with resources and widgets, and "workflow", specific to that project.

Hmm. Something seems amiss with its website today.

Thanks for finding this Korm. It reminds me of PackRat but more geekified.
It looks like Freeter can have multiple login sessions for websites. If this is true, it would be like Ghost Browser on steroids without the recurring monthly fee.
I have multiple websites each with their associated social media accounts. Switching between these for each accounts for each website takes a specific workflow. It looks like Freeter could make my life a whole lot easier.

It's not totally unlike a rather nice app for macOS called Blik, which allows you to collect together folders and files from anywhere in "projects". Each project (including "collections" of files and folders, "master folders" and selected files known as "highlights") can be accessed very easily from a drop-down menu in the Menu Bar. It's not as sophisticated as Freeter, obviously, but then it's very cheap (and not on subscription).
Along with Research Wrench, Blik is an app I'm finding increasingly useful for my daily work.
Cheers,
Bill

It looks like Freeter might have been recently sold on Flippa.
https://flippa.com/8840527-freeter-io#listing-sellers-notes
This is really a shame as I started to set it up and really liked it. I was about to purchase the Pro plan before I read about the future development.
Hopefully the new owners will continue development.

Hi,
I've just seen the topic about Freeter and thought to share the announcement here: https://github.com/alexk111/new-project#new-project-and-patreon-launch-announcement

Would be nice to see Freeter become available again.
I can recommend SuperProductivity as an alternative solution, though with somewhat different focus. It also supports "bookmarks" (links or commands to run) per project, but in addition to Freeter also supports task handling and time tracking for tasks.

Blik can now be found here-

Just now seeing this thread for the first time, I am giving both Blik and Freeter a whirl.

Blik looks nice. I'm tempted.
When I work on a project that involves notes and files, I generally use Devonthink as sort of a meta-document.
A prettier option is Curio, which I've sometimes used as sort of a control panel for something I'm working on.
Embedded files or links to external files look a little unloved by themselves, but it's possible to use a "stack" which is sort of like a column from a Kanban board. If you drag files or folders to a stack you get a reasonably presentable menu without too much effort, and you can drag things between stacks. That's helpful if something is going through different phases.

Following your comments, I have also started to test Blik: my impression is that it is a light and very useful application to get files organized quickly. Thanks for your knowledge, dialogue and advice!
I also take this opportunity to introduce myself, as this is my first post on a forum as venerable as this one. I have been quietly enjoying your knowledge for months and today I dare to take action: I am tberni, I develop my professional activity in the field of health, I work preferably with macOS, but I also work with Windows and Linux. And I am writing to you from Barcelona, Catalonia, a European country.

Hope this project flourishes. It's always nicer to have some kind of dashboard or control panel over just a bunch of calendar entries, to-do tasks, and files.

Heh, speaking of which, my recharging iPhone has just automatically upgraded itself, and is now showing me a very charming clock + calendar view (it’s sitting on its side) which I’ve never seen before!

Standby/Nighstand Mode has been in iOS 17 since last September. Clock color turns red at night to reduce glare. You can change if and for how long to keep the clock (there are options you can swipe through) in Settings ➝ StandBy ➝ Display, and if it turns off it will reappear when the phone senses motion.
https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/use-standby-mode-iphone/
Magnetic charging stands have become a lot more popular since this feature debuted since the iPhone can be placed horizontally to invoke Standby mode as a bedside clock.
