Remember InfoRecall?
7/4/2012
Steve, thanks for the heads up. Prompted by your message I did a quick search for InfoStore which I remembered since similarly older days... It is no longer being sold, and the company is more involve...
Thinking of the example of UltraRecal which should also do drag-n-drop with almost any file, files should be dragged to the tree pane to be included as separate elements.

My bad; it is also for the Mac version. I was looking at an older comment.
No time to write more, but do check out this offer http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/qsnipps/

Retrospective outlining

Indeed I find Sense unsurpassable for working on long texts, keeping track of both the overview and the detail. Sense is basically a two-pane outliner, where each paragraph, header or chapter in the d...

Microsoft's modest and free Stickysorter is another tool that can provide this kind of virtual corkboard. I used it recently for group brainstorming sessions and it came in quite handy.

More on data visualisations; I expect some people here will find the following interesting:
Graphing the history of philosophy

I found this an interesting read, though rather short on the explanatory side. However, the examples are very impressive.

B-Liner revisited
6/20/2012
Steve, I noticed indeed the change in the installation file about a year or more ago; I don't recall the radical change in the website then.
As far as I understand, it is no new version of the softw...
