Sort of a poll: What is your favorite task manager/to do app? 1/29/2019
Everdo looks interesting, but no iOS app yet. Roadmap says it should come out sometimes this year though...
Dynalist on iOS actually working? 1/28/2019
So the latest update Dynalist 1.3.1 seems to fix the remaining issues that were still causing it to freeze on launch. I say "seems" because I keep announcing that the problem is fixed only to find tha...
Todoist to offer Kanban boards (again) 1/26/2019
Taskade is another app that foolishly insists on treating notes like comments. 2Do's option to switch between "checklists" and "Projects" gives one nice flexibility about how to handle sub-tasks. (P...

ProgressBox (iOS, macOS) 1/24/2019
A new apple-centric Trello clone looks nice, but is useless to me because while I am apple-centric, when I collaborate I need something that everyone can use... https://progressbox.com/
Sort of a poll: What is your favorite task manager/to do app? 1/21/2019
Thanks for the summary. To elaborate a bit, I use 2Do for all my personal tasks, but I also use Todoist, Trello, and Dynalist. I wouldn't include Dynalist here because I don't use it as a task manager...
Sort of a poll: What is your favorite task manager/to do app? 1/10/2019
I believe a large part of what makes GTD useful is the ability to hide what you don't need to see, while being confident that your system will bring stuff to your attention when you do need to see it....

Dynalist on iOS actually working? 1/3/2019
So the crashing/freezing that is still happening on iOS seems to be date related. It only happens on the first launch of a new day, and goes away for the rest of the day after force-quitting/restartin...
Dynalist on iOS actually working? 1/1/2019
Update: So it is working well ... most of the time. I've had one freeze/crash since I started using it again, but mostly it is working much better now.
Dynalist on iOS actually working? 1/1/2019
I had almost written a post last week saying "all I want for 2019 is for Dynalist to finally work on iOS" but I deleted it. I just didn't think it was realistic. Yet, here we are. Dynalist just droppe...

Question About Kanban Boards 12/17/2018
Oh, and I didn't know that Trello has a similar feature as well! https://help.trello.com/article/819-viewing-all-of-your-cards
Question About Kanban Boards 12/17/2018
I think there are some apps that offer "filters" which can show you priority tasks across multiple boards. AirTable can do this but doesn't yet offer a Kanban view on iOS. I forget but I think Meister...
Todoist to offer Kanban boards (again) 12/16/2018
Todoist developer made the announcement on Twitter: https://twitter.com/amix3k/status/1073162472876597249 They had something similar for Windows 10 in the past, but killed it. This will be for all p...
Workflowy updates their code 12/16/2018
Major update to the code running workflowy. This explains why there hasn't been much in the way of major visible changes since they hired new developers and announced a renewed commitment to updating ...
Keeping zetel notes: productive or counterproductive approach. 12/4/2018
I personally highlight text as I read it, then export all my highlights from each book or article as a single document to an outliner which supports tags (Dynalist or Outlinely). I then structure the ...
Flat-file outliner (no db, no cloud) that support markdown and file attachment 11/23/2018
Outlinely uses files that are in its own variant of OPML stored in iCloud and supports some markdown formatting (but not all).
Trunk Notes personal wiki closes up shop 11/14/2018
Agree with others here. I tried to use it several times, but gave up because of the lack of a decent desktop companion.
Current state of iOS/macOS outliners 10/29/2018
Worth pointing out that a pro plan with Dynalist (as expensive as it is - I signed up when it was cheaper than it is now) gives you daily backups on Dropbox in a standard format, so you always have lo...
Current state of iOS/macOS outliners 10/29/2018
It has been about a year since I wrote this last post, and nothing much has changed. Outlinely shows some signs of life, and has a new lifetime subscription, but many of the things that bother me abou...
Quire.io (free until mid-2019) 10/26/2018
Love that it has both start and end dates and supports sharing and multiple platforms from the beginning. Already puts it ahead of many others. But I find the UX clumsy and confusing. While I could fi...
