I don't mind if a program needs a little bit more RAM as long as it is responsive.
And RightNote is responsive. And it doesn't flicker here.

Peter, did you think about a windows version as well?
Have a look at RightNote. You can even import your present scrapbook data.
You could try ELOoffice

It is more a DMS than a notetaker but will do what you want to do.
