Unorthodox/clever software usage?
3/11/2018
Since we have a wide array of people using a wide array of software here, I wanted to ask if you use any of software in unorthodox/clever ways (or have cute examples of others doing so)? Unique use ca...
I've been tempted by secondary e-ink displays for phones that connect via bluetooth. It is a good solution for me, as I'd prefer to read on an eInk screen, but want to avoid interacting too much with ...
Agree. 3D doesn't seem worth diving into unless you have some clear cut use cases in mind where there is a significant valued added over 2D. Otherwise it is just a gimmick that gets in the way.

MindNode / Things integration

Thx for sharing! Will need to see how I can integrate this!
I think that sums it up best.

Are there any outline/org apps that do added value 3D (versus novelty, gimmicky 3d) well?
Even though you may have move on from your outline method, Im curious as to what it looked like?!

Just ran into another article w/ someone jumping into block scheduling:

The author notes how he has now found time to work on hi...
Cool concept. Reminded me of planet hopping in Super Mario Galaxy >_< (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFoZeD7S4EU). Humans seem to be well adept at working in 3d spaces, even purely in mind space (...
@dan7000
Just played with Gingko and Bear linking => quite powerful
I hope it proves fruitful.
Some more time blocking "ideas":
Blocking at once a week at weekly level (with daily updates) would be the next level (another link via Cal Newport):
Spend More Time Man...
Yeah. It is wonderful when apps work together without much friction. I have a custom CRM in Airtable, so I might explore linking from there to Bear (there might also be a solid way to link to a search...
Agree. This is a risk.
I'd love to implement a tagging scheme like you mention, but I know myself well enough to recognize I would stop doing it in a few days.
Though I'm willing to take the risk ...
I love Bear. It has one of the best Markdown editor out there, but doesn't much int he way of structuring/organizing notes hierarchically (the nested tags get clumsy fast). This lead to CRIMPing whene...
Addendum:
I wanted to emphasize this sort of time blocking keeps you cognizant of where your time is going. I keep alarms/reminders to make sure to switch tasks/blocks. You know where every minute is...
I'd look into Cal Newport's time blocking methods w/ a notebook/paper. He is also an academic and has to deal with a lot of the admin/teaching time eating issues.
Here is a basic overview of the tim...

Gingko

I'm glad I bumped this thread.
Over the past week or so, Gingko has been working quite well for me. I think the major draw of Gingko has been the ability to sort/organize of cards/thoughts in a more...

Thx for the response.
The 10k words is a good metric I will definitely keep in mind.
My use case is for coding notes. I have a bunch of notes in Bear that I'm migrating because there is no easy w...
I think the title was too glib now, but it at least sparked some interesting discussion and exposure to Indigrid.

Any timeline on the Mac release?
I look forward to reading the design philosophy (in my reading queue at the moment).

Thx for the suggestion Dr Andus.
Just used Workflowy for collaboration and it saved a bunch of back and forth chatting.
Lovely app.
