There's an option for project notebooks that are stored wherever.
Understory for Mac - Outlining at the note level 1 week ago
I love the approach to this app and just picked up a license. Congratulations on coming up with something new in a crowded space!
Miss the old VooDooPad? 7/14/2026
Sorry about my delayed response re: the spaced repetition/flash card feature. I really like the implementation. Thank you! Mark wrote: >1.19.0 was just released. It has your requested feature in ...

Miss the old VooDooPad? 6/26/2026
Just a note to mention that I'm trying 1.8.1, and the the new graph views are really impressive!
Miss the old VooDooPad? 6/17/2026
I think it's great to see a new desktop wiki app, especially one that can import Voodoopad documents and support the same overall functionality.
Kosshi Is Database-Backed Outlining 5/27/2026
Based on the review and trial, I bought a license for Kosshi and am super impressed. It does everything that I loved in Dynalist and Workflowy but on my own computer and syncing over iCloud, non-subsc...
AI-infused 9/28/2025
The point eastgate makes about dark patterns is a good one, and I recognize there are beneficial use cases, but I'm in the camp of abstaining from using LLMs as much as I reasonably can because the te...
Workflowy - Updates? News? 12/17/2021
It's a very nice implementation, esp. with the navigable hierarchy displayed as mentioned above.
Anybody Using Notetaker? 12/6/2021
NoteTaker works well for me as a CPN replacement. I use the clipper only occasionally, but it has worked well when I've tried it. The index feature is great.
Workflowy just entered the transclusion game 8/28/2021
I've been using Workflowy quite a bit for general notes. The mirror feature is extremely well implemented, as are dates, attachments, and boards, all of which are relatively now. Of the online outline...
Web Clipper 7/3/2021
There are so many. I think it depends on what you need. Cross platform, Evernote and Firefox's SingleFile extensions work very well. On the Mac, EagleFiler and Yojimbo are good options.
Curio 15 is out 5/2/2021
I've used Curio on and off since v7, and I don't upgrade every cycle. I will probably upgrade to version 15 but may purchase an upgrade every other year or so. I think this licensing model is a fair o...
macOS Checklist App 10/24/2020
I started using Checkvist in a Fluid.app wrapper. Works well for checklists, acts like a Mac app, and has great keyboard shortcut support.
Evernote reinventing itself 10/23/2020
The two-device limit now includes the web version.
macOS Checklist App 9/23/2020
OmniOutliner seems like a good solution. Numbers also has a checklist template with check boxes, and it allows template creation, so that's another possibility.
(Yet another) interesting new app! 2/22/2020
Just saw the developer introduced html mirroring and opml export
Voodoopad 6 preview 12/31/2019
There's a preview edition of VoodooPad 6 discussed on their support page.
Evernote's new editor 10/22/2019
I've been impressed with the small improvements over the past year, and think the company is moving in the right direction on larger updates.
Aquaminds Notetaker 9/10/2019
The site was updated, I noticed. Looks like it is going to be released this month.
Back to Workflowy from Dynalist 9/7/2019
I've used both, and other tools like Checkvist. Workflowy's big strength to me is the single tree idea, and the way it really handles extremely long outlines very, very well.
Fsnotes 3 5/1/2019
It does
Fsnotes 3 4/30/2019
Fsnotes 3 is out today.
