This has turned into a nice app. I'm now torn between three neat Menu Bar-based options: SnipNotes, UpNote and FSNotes.
Meanwhile I continue to use UnClutter as a very convenient raw-text note repository at the top of the screen (not to mention Clipboard monitor).
All on macOS, folks - sorry. Although SnipNotes, UpNote and FSNotes all have iOS partners. Not sure any of them have Windows versions.

UpNote has a Windows version. I haven't tried it, because you need Windows 10... we're still clinging to Windows 7 at our office.

Does FSNotes support [[Link]] linking?

Upnote for Windows actually *doesn't* have a functioning version (apparently). Try to sign up for a premium upgrade and you get a message saying 'sorry, can't do it yet'. That leaves you with a crippled free version limited to 50 notes.

I own the Mac version. Downloaded the updated and v.3 appears to have a bug in which changing the note list to Top makes the note contents invisible when clicked on, and Markdown notes can only be seen in the Notes field when Previewed using Command-tilda.

FS Notes continues to improve. It already has file encryption, tagging (and sub-tagging), and even some features you won't find in Bear like git style versioning.
