FWIW, Zenkit's Hypernotes also works both in the browser and offline, and presumably would be a good option for Chromebook. But of course depends on your needs. RemNote has more features and continues...

@Steve, I've only tested this with basic documents, but PanWriter, as a front end for Pandoc (both of which are cross-platform), seems to do a good job with importing Word documents and automatically ...

You're right that TreeSheets is somewhat similar to what I described, but it's not the one I'm trying to think...
In addition to the options mentioned above (I use InfoQube) and other options for Mac (e.g., Tinderbox), if you're looking for Windows and web options, my memory is that Obsidian is relatively hackabl...

Useful outliner search/query examples
9/20/2023
As far as outliner searching, the main feature I look for is the ability to save searches and, ideally, save them as something along the lines of "smart folders", so that I can simply click on a smar...
Heptabase - Crimp cured?
9/11/2023
Heptabase is very impressive and I like their approach to making sense of texts by mapping out the elements. But I'm an inveterate "one-pane outliner" (although that's a confusing term), meaning that ...

Did Remnote Just Leapfrog Tana?
