Alex, do you not get the same effect with UR when you use the child panel?
The other nice piece is that after users really made an effort to emphasize the need for hoisting, UR put a hoist in the lat...
MyInfo vs UltraRecall

Stephen, good question.
I prefer MI for straight text because it has a simpler interface. But the main thing is that its approach to user-defined key words is more elegant than UR's.
If MI actually ...
MyInfo vs UltraRecall

In a post-ADM world -- at least for me, and I'll believe anything from Arne when I see it because he seems to communicate as well as Eric when push comes to shove -- I am trying to figure out how spli...
Graham, CRIMPer that I am, I have tried PB also, an have found it is OK if it is not too complex. Otherwise I find it heavy going to have a sense of what all is there. So I agree with you re PB4 beta....
Stephen, I mean I will check out MindMapper.

Stephen, thanks for your reply.
Of course, you are not responsible for my decision -- even if you did recommend a particulalr program.
In this instance though, if I recall correctly you may have had...
Is there something about the complexity of creating mind map programs that leads to them being so epensive?
A few years ago I bought VisualMind 7 -- it was the worst software investment I ever made.

UR Metadata and Searching
3/11/2007
I am trying to figure out the various ways to use Ultra Recall's metadata and user defined keywords, and have one question.
I suspect there is an obvious and easy answer to this; unfortunately, I hav...
Tom, I agree. Kinook has a great product so there is the steak behind the sizzle of good customer relations.
I have tried UR off and on.
Initially, I was confused by its approach to metadata -- also...
Jan, I wonder if Petko's rigidity come from Milenix's plan some years ago to develop a planner called Plana (I think that was the name)?
The plan was dropped.
I could never understand why they wante...
Jan, does this mean you're not going to use MyInfo -- or simply, as you have said before, you'll wait until the next version?
Also, you had said earlier you had been using ADM for a lot of stuff -- w...

Stephen, I think what I dscribed, while a vision, isone based largely on existing ADM features. You may recall that at times when people would raise questions about calendars, or PIM like features, Er...

Dominik, thanks for the info.
In a way I am sad that Eric is leaving. He had been the front man for so long, the face of ADM, and had visions for it. In his own life, a casual reading of the web sear...
Phil, I will reply in more detail to your post later -- I think you raise some good points.
However, as one of the more vociferous ranters re ADM, I wish to make it abundantly clear I am not working ...
ADM Is Dead -- Say It's Not So
3/7/2007
Dominik, I am glad Eric replied to you. And I love your statement about ADMhaving a niche between life and death.
I hope one of the things Eric and Arne talk about is how Eric/ADM treat people.
I ho...
ADM Is Dead -- Say It's Not So
3/7/2007
I think it is fair to say that ADM is dead, that it has left the building.
No word from Eric to anyone.
No word from Arne to anyone. I wrote to him earlier this week, and Jan has written, and we get...
ADM -- Just What Is Going On?
3/5/2007
Very interesting that this morning I got the following post at my Yahoo GTD Group:
******
FWIW I'll give you my recent experience (this past week).
I purchased ADM over a week ago - they sent me a r...
ADM -- Just What Is Going On?

Dominik, I appreciate your post, and your review of your involvement with ADM.
In retrospect each of us may have done things differently. I think that people such as yourself did more than could be r...
ADM -- Just What Is Going On?
3/5/2007
FWIW, I checked when I downloaded the last available version of ADM beta 4 -- it was in September of last year, almost six months ago.
Nothing since then. If I had realized fully how long it had been...
ADM -- Just What Is Going On?

Jan, I don't know why Arne didn't reply to you, but I wish he had. God knows you did more than your fair share checking for, trying to replicate, and reporting bugs.
After seeing Gianni's post today ...
ADM -- Just What Is Going On?
3/4/2007
The following post in reply to one I had originally written on the GTD Group, is even more suggestive that all is not well in the ADM camp:
After Daly’s mail I was expecting some reply from Eric Somme...
