Voodoopad 5.2 was released today by the new owners. It has some good improvements for templates, exporting, the ui, and bugfixes. Release notes here: https://www.voodoopad.com/blog/2018/04/voodoopad-52/

There is a whole series of improvements to both the macOS and iOS editions. This suggests to me the good news that VoodooPad is once again being actively developed.

This is great news. Sync, now via Dropbox, is more reliable—and the iOS app was also updated. GitHub-flavored markdown is now the markdown engine. New, responsive, HTML exports. And the app is now stable on macOS 10.13. Even though this is not a major upgrade, I’m now confident enough that the new owners actually care about their investment that I’ll return VoodooPad to my regularly-used applications.

Thanks for alerting us to this. I was just wondering if the new developers were going to improve the app. I know it is a small thing, but the colorful new icons is—in my view—an improvement. The old interface was very grim looking… and that reminds me that the first thing Primate Labs did was give the icon voodoo doll a smile!
All good indications that this app is alive and well.

If Primate Labs bought it, it’s probably in good hands in terms of future development I think. Those people are competent and dedicated—they’re not one of those teams that buys an app and tries to milk its remaining users until nothing is left.
