Hi Luhmann,

Thanks for the detailed response and kind words on the Taskade iOS app!

We will work towards making Taskade the best outliner and task manager hybrid out there.

Hi John,

I have always been very active in discussing features and giving
feedback on software that I use regularly; however, since Taskade does
not yet meet my needs I will refrain from getting involved in your user
community for now. But I'm happy to answer your questions as best I can.

It seems to me that there is a holy grail out there of a product that
can both be an outliner and a task manager, and nobody has yet managed
it. Todoist is a great task manager, but a lousy outliner. Dynalist is a
great outliner, but still very basic as a task manager. 2Do is an even
better task manager than Todoist, but doesn't support shared projects. I
mentioned those four features because it seemed to me that if Taskade
had all of them it would be one of the few products out there that can
genuinely be used as both a task manager and an outliner. With any 3 of
those features it might reach a threshold where I consider giving up
using my dedicated apps for the convenience of having everything in a
single app.

Thanks! We had a great launch!

I can't use tasked no matter how good it is because of the ludicrous icon.
satis 7/24/2019 10:52 am
Now there's constructive criticism.
yosemite 7/24/2019 7:41 pm
It looks good and has some nice features. No offline mode yet, but they say they're working on it.

I'm glad there's a Windows desktop app but I'm sad to see that it is 43 megabytes - is this an electron app or that sort of thing?

Has anyone stress tested it? How well does it hold up under heavy loads? (100's or 1000's of items)

taskcade 9/23/2019 5:50 am
I'm sorry you feel this way. Our Taskade mascot logo is meant to be friendly and fun, similar to how GitHub, Firefox, and many other apps have done. We will iterate and improve the logo over time!

Glad to see start dates! But still no recurring tasks? One thing I really like in 2Do is the ability to set a recurring task whose start date is automatically set as X days before the due date...

We are adding recurring tasks soon. Stay tuned!

Hm, Taskade is beginning to look quite convincing, I must say.

Anybody using this in earnest; anything interesting to say?

Cheers!

I think I am about to give it a strong go...ill report back in a bit. I'm not exactly an expert but I use all platforms from one desk so maybe I can provide insight in that area too.

I see that not only are recurring tasks still not implemented, but once they are implemented they will be a "pro" feature which requires a $7 month recurring fee. That's disappointing for a feature that is pretty much standard for every other task manager out there.
satis 3/11/2020 4:39 pm
Recurring tasks are often included as a Pro/pay feature. That's the way it is in MeisterTask, Trello, and also (I think) TickTick.
Paul Korm 3/11/2020 7:54 pm
Ugh. Not competitive. Todoist, for example, offers recurring tasks at the free level, and for $3/month offers a load of features far better than Taskade, IMO.

Maybe not fair to compare, but when pennies count, comparison shopping pays.

There are many dozens of productivity apps and of course something's going to have features in the freebie version that other apps don't. And vice versa. I pay for Todoist, by the way, but I see plenty of people complaining that its free tier is missing features that people want to use.

Ultimately, all these apps offer limited tastes for free with more useful tools for $$, while minimizing the number of long-term freeloaders. (shrug)
Luhmann 3/12/2020 12:59 pm
Arguably repeating tasks don't really make sense as a basic feature for a kanban board app like Trello (I use Trello for some things and have never needed it there), but it is a basic feature for a traditional task manager.
satis 3/12/2020 4:47 pm
Free should be a taster. I have no problem with an app reserving the most desired features for paying customers.
