Aquaminds Notetaker

I can’t compare it with those apps as I use it almost exclusively for lists and outlines. I could never get past the odd interface of OneNote, and DevonThink works as more of a massive text base...
Aquaminds Notetaker
12/5/2018
After a period of quiet on the Aquaminds blog, they posted today.

Appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. Their most recent beta release has a cleaner-looking ...
I don’t think Notetaker had ever been discontinued (Circus Ponies Notebook is dead, though). Notetaker had been sort of neglected, and late v3 builds seemed too unstable for me. Happily, the v4 ...
I failed to mention that Notetaker does have undo, but I cannot find the number of levels of undo possible.

I do use OmniOutliner now. And I am still putting Aquaminds Notetaker 4.0 (beta) through its paces. I very much liked Notemap when I was on Windows, and thought it was the closest thing to Grandview b...
I loved MaxThink on MS DOS. But Neil could not afford to pay a programmer to make a Windows version. He initally planned to do it himself with Delphi, and ultimately wrote it with Visual BASIC. I coul...

Thanks Stephen. I'll try to make it concise.

Curio is another one of those apps that I really wanted to like because there are others who are finding it to be indispensable. I have two more days before the college opens. I'm going to use tomorro...
Document Management - a bit OT

I think that is the best idea. I can put the files on iCloud and then link them to the Brain. That way, if the Brain doesn't play nice with iCloud, there should be no issues with just links connecting...
Document Management - a bit OT

Where to put the files was the exact question that popped into my head. I'll need to use the app both at home and at work. The first thought was to make a folder in iCloud with the relevant files. But...

Stephen,
Can I contact you offlist? I'm going to try out TheBrain 10, which I actually had purchased when they updated it about 10 months ago. I just had a few questions about file storage and TheBra...

It just so happens that I have a copy of TheBrain 8 but it has basically been untouched for the most part. I'll give it a go as well.

Thanks much! I’ll download it in the morning!

I'm posting this question here because you guys know a lot more than just outliners. My current administrative role has me receiving a lot of documents (mostly Word) from various department chairs. I ...
I'm the guy who changes task managers as often as he changes socks. I am currently on ToDoist, and I always return to ToDoist. To encourage me to stop switching, I deleted Things and Omnifocus from my...
Neo - probably not back from the dead

That was the kind of feedback I was looking for. I won't delete it from my computer as it seems that it may still have some life left if maintained. I did delete Tree Outliner from my computer, though...
Neo - probably not back from the dead
10/14/2018
While trying to think of outliners with columns, I remembered Neo, and app with lots of possibilities but an inscrutable user interface. The last I recalled, the D-Lit website was gone and the app had...

Ah! Got it, and bought it! Bye Bye DayOne.

Journaling, a simplistic view

The program mentions an in-app purchase of the full version, but I cannot find anything in the app that links me to a purchase option.

I parted ways with DayOne when they moved to subscription. Is the “full version” of this a subscription as well?
SheetPlanner Beta 8

So far, the only issue I’ve hit was a font glitch. A stable program that will be my day-to-day project/task manager.
Omnifocus 3.0 to come out Monday

I made the investment in OF3. I have it on my two iPads, so having universal syncing with all of my devices is a must. Others also do that, but I am expecting that I will grow into OF3.
Omnifocus 3.0 to come out Monday

Other than "contexts" being replaced by "tags", I haven't heard too much about this app. I own everything in the OmniGroup line, with OmniOutliner and OmniGraffle used most often. For heavy duty task ...
TickTick steadily improves

I just quit Pagico because Safari no longer works with it (I get a message that it is insecure or something like that).

Not an issue. In fact, if something comes up, it makes sense to do a search on the site for a keyword so the thread stays together. At any one time, I have 5 different task managers in rotation, with ...
