Idea Sketch is now Idea Flip

I remember downloading this for my Palm PDA a long time ago...it was hard to do mind mapping on a 160 x 160 screen. ;-)
Outline Pro by Ventureblocks

What I would like is for one of these apps to use OPML as a default file format, and load/save directly to say Dropbox. I could then seamlessly view/edit those files on Mac or PC.
The whole import/ex...

As it turns out, I also own this app and don't use it!
I don't believe it has folding.
I use WriteMonkey on Windows, it's my favorite all-around text editor. I just checked and this feature is not available, but there's an active Google Groups for WriteMonkey and I'd recommend posting t...
Ulysses for Mac can do at least some of what you describe, if I understand correctly.
You can access external folders containing text files with the app (I added some Dropbox folders and use ResophNo...
Mindscope via Reddit/r/productivity

I tried it out for the first time the other day, and purchased the full version a couple of hours later. I really love the app, the core idea of nested mindmaps/diagrams is great!
I asked the develop...
You're welcome!
As Hugh said, it has a very nice UI. Basically you get the benefit of the structure of a database or task app, along with the 'free form' flexibility of an outliner or text editor- at...
Thank you for the Mindscope mention- it's awesome!!
It's like Scapple and Workflowy had a baby, and it's right up my alley. I've tried a lot of mindmapping/visual note-taking software, until now my p...

As a token of appreciation, I just purchased Little Hangman (my kids will like it). ;-)
Quiver for Mac gets a hefty update
2/27/2015
Hi Bill,
Is this website on the publicly available WWW? If so, could you post a link? I am curious what the output looks like.
(I only just redeemed a promo code from the other thread.)
Thanks,

One other app that I really enjoy using (when I am at my work PC)- WriteMonkey. Such a simple program really, and yet I really wish there was a Mac port.
I sync text files via Dropbox, and use Ulysse...
Self introduction and Quiver promo codes
2/27/2015
As is normally the case (although I wouldn't have expected in a tighter group like this), some codes have been redeemed without a courtesy reply.
I redeeemed MRYHMNJ3FNRT, but the following have also...
I really enjoy using The Hit List, both for task management and for note-taking/general outlining.
I find it effortless to use with the keyboard commands (mainly the WASD cluster for moving items, an...

Workflowy exports pretty nicely to Tree too, which is also a very nice Mac outlining app.
(the big novelty of Tree is the horizontal layout, but there is also a standard vertical layout as well.)
MagicalPad for OS X is available
6/4/2014
Thanks for letting us know! I have MagicalPad on my iPad, but never really used it. It looks really nice, but too much to learn in the interface. I don't really need to do much diagramming, so for me ...
Trello?
6/4/2014
I just started using Trello yesterday as a day-to-day task manager, I find having draggable cards/items works really well for me and is much more intuitive than due dates, managing separate lists, etc...
Taking another look at Ulysses

I want to like Scrivener, but Ulysses and Daedalus Touch are the apps I actually use. One day I may actually go back and try Scrivener again, it's just more complicated to get going with and as much a...

Your last point makes a lot of sense. I think implementing this via tags would be the best way while still preserving the basic concept (rather than loose cards, multiple parents, or other organizatio...
The 2nd requirement of multiple files being displayed inline (or however you call it) is something I haven't seen.
I have wanted something similar- a simple outliner program that used plain text file...

This looks like a really nice app. I like the basic concept that you're working with individual cards, but that there is a hierarchy to them.
To further the flexibility of the card metaphor, I would ...
Outlinely (for Mac)
4/15/2014
I just downloaded the Outlinely trial, I like Workflowy a lot.
This one seems real nice for $5, I am more into the simple outliners as an easy way to jot down and begin organizing ideas, rather than ...

The Mac version is free, the iOS version is $10.

I don't think the lack of progress with Mori was put on Jesse. He was more discussing the seeming habit of Jesse to keep jumping to new (but similar) apps. Mori, TaskPaper, FoldingText, Oak Outliner (...
I just tried importing the OPML to OmniOutliner, Tree, and MindNode Lite. By import I mean I pasted the OPML export into TextEdit and saved as a '.opml' file.
All 3 programs were able to read the OPM...

It's hard to rely on any smaller Google service if we don't know the criteria for Google to continue offering it. Reader may not have been as big as Gmail, but it was big in the RSS world- look at the...
