Good News!
- The new versions welcome you with a fresh App Icon, refined book and document icons and a modernized appearance.
- With a simple gesture you can mark books and documents as Favorites, which adds them to a new smart book.
- You can pin documents to the top of the list, independent of the selected sort order.
- Internal link and Wiki links resolve even smarter. With just a title or part of a filename given, Notebooks can find the target, no matter where it’s located.
And more…

That is good news. In the recent thread about Ulysses, I almost mentioned Notebooks as an option, but decided not to because it seemed that not much was happening in development. I am happy to learn that is not the case. Thank you.

I'm glad to say that Alfons steadily releases small but often quite significant updates to Notebooks. This sounds like a slightly more major update, which is cool.

Good news. Though I'd wish he'd not only add features to the MacOS and iOS versions but also to the Windows version.

I agree. I have the Windows version, but it is a pale imitation of the Mac and iOS versions.

I don't think an updated Windows version is ever coming. I emailed Alfons a while ago about this. He explained that he does not see sufficient demand for a Windows version to warrant further development. Alfonse left the door open to reconsider if the market justifies his work.

If I were on Windows I'd take a closer look at Joplin as an alternative.

As is Obsidian.
Nevertheless, I'd love to keep NotebooksApp :-) and get an update (even if I had to pay for it).

Alfons replied to my e-mail. They are working on the iOS/MacOS updates and the documentation right now.
Re the Windows version: "But we have not completely lost sight of the Windows version. Nevertheless, I do not dare to name a date yet."
Hm ...

That Alfons hasn't completely given up on the Windows version is good news. Thanks, Franz.
