That is good news. In the recent thread about Ulysses, I almost mentioned Notebooks as an option, but decided not to because it seemed that not much was happening in development. I am happy to learn that is not the case. Thank you.

I'm glad to say that Alfons steadily releases small but often quite significant updates to Notebooks. This sounds like a slightly more major update, which is cool.

Good news. Though I'd wish he'd not only add features to the MacOS and iOS versions but also to the Windows version.

I agree. I have the Windows version, but it is a pale imitation of the Mac and iOS versions.

Yes. The current vs. 1.4.2 is from 2017.
I contacted Alfons today bc. of a Windows update but haven't received an answer, yet.

I don't think an updated Windows version is ever coming. I emailed Alfons a while ago about this. He explained that he does not see sufficient demand for a Windows version to warrant further development. Alfonse left the door open to reconsider if the market justifies his work.

Yes, Joplin is an option, it improved a lot compared to the time I took a look.
As is Obsidian.

Nevertheless, I'd love to keep NotebooksApp :-) and get an update (even if I had to pay for it).

Alfons replied to my e-mail. They are working on the iOS/MacOS updates and the documentation right now.
Re the Windows version: "But we have not completely lost sight of the Windows version. Nevertheless, I do not dare to name a date yet."

That Alfons hasn't completely given up on the Windows version is good news. Thanks, Franz.
