Bits du Jour have PageFour at 50% off today. For those who didn’t pick it up on a previous occasion, I can heartily recommend it.
I’ve moved to a new job recently and I haven’t been able to use MS OneNote because of a very strict SOE policy. However, I have been able to install PageFour and it has been a more than adequate substitute.
While the program is marketed at the budding creative writer, it also works just as well in a business context for jotting down quick random notes and issues in a structured way. As others have observed here, the UI is very intuitive and it does exactly what is says it does - a strong compliment in PIM-land.

just a note: in the environment where I cannot use my favorite PIM soft even thought it works nicely from USB (for example when I’m on other than M$ operating system), I found Google Notebook perfect for jotting down short notes and taking snapshots from websites ...

I too use Google notes and find it very useful. I also breathe more easily because my notes are stored on Google’s servers and not on my hard drive.

So, I got a free copy of PageFour when it was on Give Away of the Day, but I decided to purchase a copy today because I like the program and feel that it is important to support the developer—even at half price.
I like the simplicity of the editor and the GUI. It is like a stripped down version of Liquid Story Binder.
