This is nice!

No, I need to edit this - it's really nice!

The forum needs a 'reset password' option. The redesign locked me out of my account (Cyganet) and declared my password invalid. I sent two messages via the 'Contact' option but received no reply. So I made a new account as 'Cyganet2' to regain access.

Just another endorsement to say: this really is the bees' knees! Very elegant, very easy to use. I'd love to know what the back end is?

Quick question. Is there a way for a thread to open to where I last left off reading it when I revisit the forum, or is that not possible? Not a requirement, but quite handy if available.

Thanks,

Cyganet2, try again logging into your previous account. I was having the exact same issues as you and sent a message via Contact. I created a new account with a different email address and wrote in the Contact form message the issue I was having. That was weeks ago I and I never heard back. I had basically given up trying until just now. Your post prompted me to try again logging into my old account and I am now able to. I am not sure happened, but it worked.

I spoke too soon. Disregard my reply to your post @Cyganet2 if my post is approved. (I made a post a few days ago and still waiting to be approved.) I am unable to login to the forum ever since it was redesigned. So, I have lost years of contribution under the old username "Darren McDonald". I am following your lead and creating a new display name “Darren McDonald2”. Maybe it is the universe’s way of telling me to become the next generation model. ;) I look forward to posting again when Chris gets a chance to approve me. A shout-out to @Chris Murtland for creating a space for us to CRIMP out. A real labor of love. Thank you from Japan. :)

Fascinating how discussion has enjoyed a resurgence since the redesign.

It's like X, except without having to filter through all the flat earth drivel and claims AI is conscious.

Or, maybe it is self-aware and I'm heartless. I turn computers off without the slightest feeling of remorse. Except when browsing this site, of course.

Wait, we can now ?

EDIT : Yes, we can !!!

Or maybe they could be sorted (if so desired) by Newest First? But hey, it's brilliant anyway!

Chris, could threads slew down to the last entry read? Like in Discourse. (Just for threads created since the redesign, obviously.)

This is wonderful!

I'm going to add this, just haven't gotten around to it yet. It's definitely annoying to have to scroll/find where you left off in a topic.

Thank you, Chirs. No rush. But nice to know it is coming.

Now now! No less a person than Professor Dawkins has suggested that AI may indeed be conscious (after lengthy interaction with his agent "Claudia"...). So it *must* be true...

;-D

Chris,

I am wondering if it would be possible to add the page navigation buttons that appear at the end of a page of a multi-page thread at the top so it is quicker to get to the last page. Not a big issue if you can't.

Chris,

I see the buttons at the top of the left hand panel. If they were already there, excuse me. If they are new, thank you!

Added. It scrolls to the first message posted since your last visit; it tracks visit time, not individual posts read. So if you open a topic without actually reading it, the "new" badge still clears on your next visit.

Thanks for the "scroll to the first message…" upgrade, Chris.

Sure gettin' highfalutin fancy around here :-)
MadaboutDana 7/1/2026 12:33 pm
Sure is, bro! Very nice!

Chris,

A password reset feature would be nice. I had to create a new account because my old one doesn't work on the new site.

There also seems to be something up with the line breaks in the RSS feed. Line breaks look like they are stripped in the RSS feed.
