Reading Cassius's "From Jot+ to ???" got me thinking more generally about notetaking programs, so I thought I had better start a new thread. I'd like to jump in with some general comments about what, ...

Daly - I tried out ConnectedText over the summer, and my views are much the same as yours. Clearly, it is a matter of how people prefer to work, and what they are working on, though. For collaborativ...

Thanks very much for doing this, Tom. From the Archives display here I can see that it is now much better organized and easier to read. By the way, the link you gave for the modified file's whereabou...

As an addendum, using the free indexed search engine, Wilbur (http://wilbur.redtree.com/download.htm) gives a considerably better and quicker result than dtSearch. Derek

Chris - Thanks for giving me the url again for the file. I must have missed it first time around. I see what you mean about the format. It's meant to be an opml one, but I haven't been able to load ...
Outliners.com archive 8/26/2006
Is there any more news about the fate of the outliners.com archive? Last I heard back on May 4th was that Chris was having problems reading the contents of the file he had received. Derek

Thanks, Steve. This one is always well worth watching. It's a pity though that, apart from the first one, the screen shots are so small, even the enlarged views. Perhaps another example of hastiness.....
Forum bug? 8/17/2006
Jack - I use Firefox and find that after logging in I need to go back to the tabbed web-page of messages I was looking at, and refresh the page. The blue boxes then come up. I expect the same thing ...
Index cards software 8/16/2006
Sorry that askSam did not work for you, Wojciech. It seems strange that nobody is producing software with the type of features you mention. Maybe one of the traditional database programs (e.g, MS Acce...

Universal/Internal URLs 8/6/2006
As a follow-up to my post about Zoot's handling of other programs' URL-type addresses for items in their databases, the new build of Zoot now recognizes Biblioscape and Web Research (formerly ContentS...
Universal/Internal URLs 7/16/2006
You're probably right. I hadn't thought of that. I downloaded the Clipcache/Linkstash guy's Multimacro program the other day. Maybe I'll try it out. Derek
Universal/Internal URLs 7/16/2006
Alex - The ones I know about are Biblioscape and Contentsaver (now Web Research). They both provide special URL address hyperlinks to items in their databases. [I wish I knew the proper technical ter...

Ian, I very much appreciate your discussion of Ultra Recall - much food for thought. I've d/l it a couple of times, but never really gave it much of a workout. One problem is the tree-organizer conce...
