I just stumbled across it:
Stashpad is a personal note taking tool and it is not considered as a knowledge management app like Obsidian or TheBrain.
Or, in other words, “note-taking for working memory” as described by its developers.
It works like a “note to myself” or like sending messages on Slack or Teams to me.
The notes are organized in Stacks (folders).
It is free for personal use, no login is required, all data is stored locally.
The commercial licence costs USD 50.
Sync across devices is available and costs USD 96 per year or USD per month.
All the best,
Dominik

Looks good, but no hierarchical view of notes and no plans to implement one.

And kinda pricey.

I just got a notice from the developers of Stashpad (officially Stashpad Lists, because they also make Stashpad Docs), that they are shutting down after just a couple of years. This isn’t surprising, because they didn’t seem committed to either of their two apps, and neither one of them really filled any type of niche. I had hopes for Lists, because it reminded me a little of Brainstorm.
