Had a little giggle at the new name! But sure, it looks time for the new look!
Been a premium member since 2017, mostly happy to pay even through the big issues they had keeping up with being a google email client too.

Nothing specifically new to note apart from the inclusion of a 'lifetime' price...
(after years with them, the option for a lifetime deal appeals, but I'd have effectively paid nearly $500 for it to take that option..... so a little miffed.)

Does anyone else use it? I'd love to hear what your CRIMPing wishlist was for it!

I wonder if the people who paid $59 for the lifetime moo.do subscription back in 2017 will continue to get full access to the rebranded service, or whether service will be considered ended and phased out with the introduction of a 'new' product.

The outlining looks neat, but it looks like it's still locked into the Google ecosystem, yes? Earlier this year there was discussion about how changes with the Google API broke some of moo.do's features

I've paid yearly since 2017,
the LTD at that time was only open to new customers.

They've an open invite to the current premium users to upgrade to continue supporting development. hence the astronomical total cost I posted above.. I'm not sure I'm happy with still paying yearly given the LTD is now an open offer, after the amount that I've already paid. it's a weird scenario..

Yes, still on the google ecosystem, and it's still kinda clunky at that, but at least it's working as per their USP... finally.

With that said, if you've skin in the google ecosystem, then it's a handy product...

This rebranding of moo.do got me to once again look at the app. I've long been intrigued by it, but I found it a bit baffling. I don't know what it was about this time around, but I've finally gotten my head around it... and, I love it. Strange how that happens. I hope I'm not so shallow as to have been influenced by the name change.

In the past, the whole boards and panes and documents thing seemed like a mumbo jumbo to me. But now I get it and I've found Legend extremely useful just as a multi-pane outliner. I haven't tried the calendar or email integrations and frankly I don't think I will for fear that I will once again find myself in the weeds.

But I've found that Legend has a bunch of nice touches (nothing novel or unique):

- Recurring tasks works nicely
- Offline access and editing of documents
- Boards provide side by side by side (etc...) access to multiple views of your work, including more than one document
- Customization of the editor
- Nice use of markdown
- Linked references (backlinks)

And more.

I’ve had much the same reaction – rediscovering Moo.do (sorry, Legend!) has highlighted the app’s many strengths as a multi-pane outliner. They’re a bit vague about mobile apps (currently they’re still running Moo.do and Legend in parallel), but I’m sure they’ll be along eventually.

Since I've just started looking at Dynalist and Workflowy, I thought I might as well add Legend to the list. I have Google everything, but I found Legend so tied in that it was distinctly unfriendly to set up and uninstalled after less than five minutes. Even Logseq lasted longer than that (after three install/uninstall cycles).
