Hi Jeffrey,
Label "Free Version" should be clickable. Full version gives you encryption, iCloud Syncing and custom themes.

I don't recall mentioning my suggestions should take only 4 hours to do. Sorry. I hope your email is fixed now.
"Quick entry" -- I don't know what's encrypted here -- FileVault? Something else? But take a look at DayOne's quick entry in the menubar (I don't like it in the menubar, but that's their thing); or OmniFocus', or Things; etc.
Share extension work like, well, every other share extension in macOS: select something (text or an image in Safari or a document, etc.) click the Share icon and the text is sent to a new note in your app. Here's a simple explanation from Apple (a bit dated):

How would you want share extension to work ?

Hi Paul,
Ah yeah sorry - did not meant you suggested it takes 4 hours, I mean it is bigger task coding wise for me - basically not a "quicky".
Thanks for the feedback.
Think I seen the Things have the key which if you press allows you to add text for today - indeed something like this would be quite nice.

Exactly my view on this. MacJournal has everything and works very well and has for many years. It occasionally gets an update, and I've never had problems with it when updating from one version of macOS to another.

I honestly don't get why MacJournal is not the most used software for
journals.
It is the most suitable for the job.
it stores files transparently (even if the file names are convoluted);
can store all types of files including embedded video.
Extremely fast
Feature rich; no other journaling software comes close to the list of
features

Diarly just came out with an iOS companion, which in early testing syncs
nicely via iCloud with the MacOS version.

I just downloaded the Mac app. It looks clean and I prefer its basic writing environment to Day One on my Mac. Fewer features, but nothing much missing, given the way I write. Interesting that there's a simple Day One import option - I'll try it with one of my journals...
I'm using Dark Mode in Mojave on my Mac and for some reason the drop-down menus in the app are gray instead of black...
I do miss being able to change fonts, a limitation that a lot of cross-platform diary or text apps have. On Ulysses in iOS I'm able to install any font from my Mac, and that alone puts it ahead of other options when I'm writing. I just feel more comfortable using the font of my choice, which is usually not one of the base fonts chosen by developers. (And sometimes devs remove fonts without explanation - as Day One did recently.)

Follow-up: Mojave is in dark mode but when Diarly is in its own light mode the menus are the odd gray color. When the app is in its own dark mode the menus look right.

Hello satis,
Thanks for the feedback. Will add custom fonts to my todo list for future updates.
By the dropdown menus being gray - you mean the menu on right click in editor area ?
Other views such as the calendar or journal picker etc are custom views so could possibly add the separate style to the css file to control how they look.

Ok, think it's not too bad then :whew:
My priority at the moment is bug fixes and finishing iPhone. Added PDF exporter over weekend, might need to make it more customizable - now it just exports opened journal in American Letter size (majority users are from US).
Any suggestion appreciated.

Hello Everyone,
iPhone version is now available.
Still early so please let me know if you would have any issues.
Now will be preparing new Mac update, so if you have anything you want in next build as priority let me know. Bug fixes will be a priority.
Also - as you guys know a lot of software - Any suggestion for some sort of user feedback website. Something to allow people to have the voice on whats being worked on in future ?
E.g Uservoice is nice, but quite costly.. Was thinking of public google doc or something similar.

Just downloaded the iPhone app, but I won't be able to look at it until tonight at the earliest.
A lot of apps or discussion groups I follow have moved to Discourse ( https://www.discourse.org/ ) but it is probably too expensive ($100/month). You can get a feel for it by checking out the Productivity Guild forum (which has free and pay user tiers): https://community.productivityguild.com/
For public feedback, creating a free Reddit is simple and possibly useful, but for a small, targeted app it will probably end up resembling a ghost town, like you see with the Dynalist and Zenkit groups.
https://www.reddit.com/r/zenkit/
https://www.reddit.com/r/dynalist/
Some apps will have a presence on Medium for articles about their products and noting updates, like GoodTask does:
https://medium.com/goodtask-app
Otherwise, a free Wordpress blog and Google Forms feedback page would probably be fine.
