Chandler 1.0 released

After seven or so years in development, the first release version of Chandler is finally out:

Looks reasonable, but it’s lost a lot of its original vision. Beyond grouping different types of data items together, it doesn’t seem substantially different from Outlook and Exchange (possibly with Groove added). Though it is certainly more accessible for small groups.
Alas, no outlining. If only they had looked at Ecco earlier in their design process, and come up with a simpler, cleaner data model….

I did not follow Chandler very closely, but remember reading the opposite: The Ecco data model was originally planned, but through the years of (over) design, it was dropped.
