1. tree view of folders/files on the side
2. **able to bold the text so you can see the bolded text**
3. white background
4. text is centered on the page/typing area
these 4 basic things needed

this one is a plus but not absolutely needed,
* basically nothing else on the screen (clean visually minimal UI)

If it wasn’t for your centred text thing, I’d say iaWriter. Similar very powerful, simple apps include TextNut (which does Markdown and RTF ad hoc) and MWeb, but they’re Mac/iOS only.

If you’re talking about typewriter mode when you say center text on page, then I’d suggest that Write satisfies your requirements. It is available for Windows and MacOS. Here’s the website link:

iawrite - on https://ia.net/writer/about/ and under ‘Document Library’ section it looks like a list of files/notes instead, can you confirm?
trial had expired and used it only a few times, i remembered vaguely it did something weird with links..

‘typewriter mode’ - oh sorry about that, i’d have said something like ‘centering the text while you’re typing’
this is just that the text is centered on your screen when in fullscreen or maxed window—for example on the text on this page—https://writeapp.co/about
the demo video does confirm it has the tree view/structure of notes/files tho
how did you first hear about this one?
looks like you cant change the font size in any way? that’s highly limiting—on https://writeapp.co/help—under ‘editor’

I am still not sure I quite understand your question about “centering the text on the screen.” But if you mean can you go full screen and not have the text jammed up against the left edge, yes.
Also, you can zoom in and out to adjust how large the text looks on the screen.
I can’t remember how I first heard of Write. Probably on this forum, or maybe I did a search for text editors that work on both Windows and MacOS.
