Hi,

If you have recently registered and posted to the forum, you may need to log out/close your browser and log in again after your first post is approved (which may take a day or two).

Your initial login session will still think you are not an approved user even after I approve you. I will fix this so future new users are immediately updated on approval.

Thanks,
Chris

Same here. This forum is the first place I go when I am in my RSS reader. Many thanks. I have learned a lot from everyone here in the time that I have been perusing.

My regards and thanks also, Chris. This forum is a gem.

And thank you for preserving the archive -- going back now almost 18 years.

I am also thankful for this site. I may not post much, but I almost always read the information in the posts. Many people have helped me throughout the years, and for that I am grateful.

Can put a short message stating the above in ALL CAPS as part of membership confirmation page which is shown after registering.

And/or add it to any auto email sent too.

Or state so, on registering page.

Till you have time to fix the code. Also might ask them to empty cache/cookies if that has any effect.

Hear, hear! This is a forum that is both genuinely useful (having helped me find tools that I now use daily) and is remarkably free of trolls.

Thanks for the warm appreciation and may I say happy new year's to all! I'm quite happy to provide this forum, as it has been an invaluable resource to me, is one of my favorite groups, and really has little to do with me. Thanks to everyone for being polite and keeping things on topic 99% of the time.

Much obliged for the forum, Chris!

Chris, congratulations on not only providing a useful forum, but also for it's longevity.

I happened to open it on my Smartphone the other day and it is all a bit of a mess, which I assume you are aware of. I've no idea what's behind the forum, but adding some responsive css and html markup can get sites to adapt to any device. The lack of https support will also be affecting your Google rankings etc, that may not be of any concern to you though.

Thanks again,
Neville
