I just discovered a new writing tool called WriteMapper that combines a distraction-free text editor with a mind map (https://writemapper.com
I tested the trial version and was immediately hooked by the responsiveness and easy of switching between mind map and text editor views.

Xmind also does the same. But, this one seems cheaper. NIce

Looks nice; too bad there's not a version for non-Mac users...

Looks interesting. A great feature would be the ability to import a markdown document and turn it into a mind map. Doesn't look like it can do that at this stage.

There's a Windows version. I have it running on a Windows 10 machine.
Rather buggy and horrible UI & navigation. But it works.
