Really nice program. But I am missing a way to manage more than one tree, e.g. by tabs like in KeyNote or My Notes Keeper, or MyInfo. Or did I overlook something?

At one time I recommended this program. However, as updates were published, it became increasingly difficult to get the new versions to read files created in earlier versions. Finally, I gave up. I did keep notes on some of the problems and the developer’s suggested work-arounds. Here are a couple of these notes:

Something has happened to my Maple 5.3 paragraph formatting.

I have not used Maple for a while. When I try opening a file, the left and right paragraph indents for each note are set to 0.0 (zero). This results in nothing showing or at most one character per line being displayed. If I change the indents for a note, it is displayed properly, but the paragraph indents have to be set for each note separately.

What do I do to restore the proper paragraph indents for all my notes in all my files?

I am running Windows 2000.

To fix this, you should either turn word wrap mode on [under File/Preferences/Editor/General], or open File\Page Setup dialog and click the OK button in it.

7/17/05: Opening files in Maple 6 (reply message from developer):

In Maple 5.3 open this file, then click the root node and select File\Export\Branch. As a result, you’ll get a fixed file that will be converted correctly in Maple 6.0

Casius, I have seen your recommendation for Maple before.

I downloaded it today because the price is right (grin).

While it might be good at what it does, my sense from a quick look at it is that is a very basic tree/note program—not much different except in appearance than it was a few years ago.

If I am right about that, is there a future for Maple? Do you know if it has plans to develop further?

I remember discovering Maple and MyInfo about the same time, maybe seven years ago. At the time, I thought Maple the more sophisticated program, but since then MyInfo has blossomed while Maple seems to have stagnated.
