Fascinating- a scholarly article on the topics we kick around here every day.
I doubt that the authors have ever heard the term"CRIMP," but I'll bet they'd understand the concept immediately.
Well worth reading... and saving.
But then, then the questions begin. The dead-tree-and-black-gunk option is right out, so...
- Do I simply save the PDF in an appropriate place in my file system?
- Perhaps I should embed it in a MyInfo topic!
- Wonder how pasting to OneNote would work out here?
- Or maybe now's the time to get serious with that copy of UltraRecall I bought on Bits du Jour sale...
I want a REAL Memex!

Very interesting article indeed.
Ive downloaded it and stored it in my own personal knowledge base in Devonthink Pro.
I haven't read it carefully, but the article seems to do a comprehensive survey of many of the apps that we have discussed here.

Very good article, and surprisingly good analysis. I would have preferred a bit more discussion of the interplay between hierarchy and attributes in tools like Ecco, but they got the core ideas down.
Is this part of a larger research project? Towards the end of the paper they discuss an ideal "Memex II" and seem to hint that they're developing it. Does anyone know if that project is going ahead? It would be interesting to follow.
