I haven’t tried it yet, but I just got a notice from Curio’s developer, George Browning, that version 10 is now available. Here’s what he has to say about it:
[begin quote]
Zengobi today announced the availability of Curio 10, a major update of their professional brainstorming, mind mapping, and note taking application for the Mac, as well as a new free companion app, Curiota, which integrates with and extends Curio’s functionality and connectivity with always-available note taking, file collection, and extensive OS X scripting and integration features. New features in Curio 10 include support for stack collections for visual task management; powerful mind map & list sorting; iMindMap and updated MindNode import/export support; tag emoji support; numerous table, pinboard, and list enhancements; new Local library shelf for custom watch folders, fast file searching, and Curiota integration; stencils shelf for more efficient diagramming; interface refinements; plus dozens of other features and enhancements.
[end quote]
I’m especially interested in Curiota and how that will change the Curio experience. George mentioned in his message he has big plans for making Curiota more robust in future releases.

I’ve been testing Curio 10 (and Curiota) in beta for several months and I’m really enjoying it. George is a great developer to work with—he is responsive and patient and is very interested in what his customers do with the product and what improvements they need. I’m including Curio more into my work and personal life. Curio is well designed and pleasant to work with, with a lot of feature power under the covers. It’s worth a trial.
Though I’ve been using Curiota, I don’t use it so much because it’s not the kind of feature I really need—not because it’s a bad feature. I believe it will evolve nicely now that it is in the view of the public and George can get the kind of information from customers that he needs to shape the direction.

Thanks for the update, Hugh et al.
Love it! I’ve just downloaded and installed it, and it’s impressive.
Mind you, Curiota is a seriously useful app, too, and could be used on its own for creating and saving notes, PDFs, web pages etc. into a specific folder. It does work especially well with Curio, but as far as I can tell, doesn’t actually *need* Curio (and vice versa). It’s got a lovely ‘Import into Curiota’ bookmark you can drop into your browser’s bookmarks bar/menu.
Come to think of it, it would probably work very well with EagleFiler. I hope George creates an iOS version (I suspect he has exactly that in mind, following user pressure to make an iOS version of Curio!).
