As David Sparks says, Ulysses has matured greatly in the last couple of years. Quirky, Markdown-based, with its own way of storing files and folders, it has become perhaps the main rival to Scrivener for long-form writing on the Mac platform. (But personally I hope that when the Soulmen launch the iPad edition, they produce a proper manual - for both versions.)

Thanks, Hugh. I've seen some chatter about this from the Soulmen twitter feed. Looking forward to the day I can use Ulysses on my iPad and have it sync with my MacBook.
