Note taker accepting input via email

Do you know of any simple and convenient notetaking app (ideally with local client) which can accept input, among others, via a special email address?
The obvious answer here is Evernote; the problem for me however is that Evernote is full of my notes on anything interesting I encounter on the web or anywhere else, making it inconvenient for my current purpose, which is to copy my own texts which I want to re-use. Evernote provides a single address regardless of notebook, so everything ends up in the same pile to classify later. It therefore seems more convenient to post to another app altogether (an alternative would be to create another Evernote account for my personal notes, but what would be the CRIMP fun in that?)
I’ve found quite a few task management applications that can accept input via email, but I’m just interested in notetaking so the task management features actually get in the way.

When you send something to the Evernote mailbox, you can add two kinds of information in the subject line: @[notebook name] #[tag name]. You can of course have more than one tag. This system directs your e-mail to the proper destination so that you don’t have to sort it later.

Thanks for this; I had no idea!
In the meantime I found that Simplenote also accepts notes via email. But these are text only, and I was looking for a rich text solution like Evernote.

I’m almost certain that you can set up a G-Mail account that you can sync with Zoot. I’ve never done this, so I’m not sure how well it works, but I don’t recall complaints on the Zoot forum about it.
