Yaroslav has just updated TreeProjects to version 2.7, introducing more columns for the list view(s) - plural because you can use them in ALL list views, including e.g. searches. Neat! He’s made the columns auto-flexible, too, so they widen/narrow as you change the size of the list pane - a nice touch. Oh, and he’s explicitly stated that he’s working towards customisable columns.
TreeProjects remains one of my very favourite PIM solutions - not least because of deceptive simplicity, speed and stability. Go, Yaroslav! Oh, and if you ever fancy including a spreadsheet-type note (as in AM-Notes: http://www.aignes.com/notebook.htm), that would be brilliant… but no pressure!
Cheers,
Bill

Spreadsheet-type notes would be nice; I personally prefer the Rightnote implementation http://www.bauerapps.com/RightNote.html
It does make one greedy though; spreadsheet-type notes, then spreadsheet functionality, then possibly macros… where does it all end?

There is no built-in spreadsheet item type yet, but if you have Excel installed, you can preview and edit spreadsheets stored in the database, as if they were native. Like this: http://personaldatabase.org/screenshots/excel.png

Hi Yaroslav,
“There is no built-in spreadsheet item type yet, but if you have Excel installed, you can preview and edit spreadsheets stored in the database, as if they were native. Like this: http://personaldatabase.org/screenshots/excel.png”
I support this solution because then we have the complete Excel functionality available. Further, adding a spreadsheet type item would bloat TreeProjects and increase complexity within the application.

I just tried contacting the developer of Treeprojects at http://personaldatabase.org/ - the web contact form doesn’t work - and an email to the provided contact email address bounced. I bought a license to this product on the promise it would be an Ultra Recall replacement - but it seems the company may have folded? That’s annoying !
Also potentially very impolite if the developer just did a runner without telling anyone ...
Anyone have any insight into this?
