Both programs sometimes discussed here, both due on BDJ in the coming days:

Today, 2/8, is the day for the discounts on mybase + addons, and notefrog.
Mybase + addons is $39.50, normally 79.00
notefrog is $15.95, normally 49.95.
From what I can tell mybase doesn’t have “columns” - it does appear to have hierarchical tags.

Some years ago I bought a license for NoteFrog, because its functionality intrigued me—it was probably during an earlier Bits promotion. However, the interface is so “old fashioned” that it looks like a refugee from Windows 3.0. It might as well have been a carving in a stone tablet.
Anyone using NF? Any thoughts about it?

I too am attracted to NF’s approach and purchased a licence in the past. I’d like a modern, reliable Cardfile program.
But I just can’t get past the crude, ugly, non-standard interface. Windows 3 is being kind, Steve. I don’t understand why any Windows program would choose to ignore normal Windows conventions for layout, buttons etc. Trying to be different? For a productivity program where ease of use and getting up to speed quickly is the key? Makes no sense to me.
Version 2 is on the way. If it looks like a normal Windows program and behaves like one, then I’ll go back and have another go.

MyBase infuriated me for similar reasons- its non-standard menu system.
I’ve used a number of note taking apps and like most apps, have IMPORT and EXPORT as key functions. But no, MyBase uses CAPTURE as well as several other very non-intuitive menue arrangments.
I used it for a few weeks, but those small things were annoying, and more so was developers unwillingness to respond to requests (ie fix the import feature so it can import word documents stored in folder structures. It just didnt’ work)
MyInfo a very nice application, with a very nice web-clipping tool - but the above problems, and the fact that it has been developing extraordinarily slowly, was enough to drive me to abandon it, and buy a license for MyInfo.
But I keep reexamining MyBase from time to time. It seems however that MyInfo has all of the features of MyBase, and quite a few extras. So Im in no rush to go back
