Biblioscpape continues to develop at the alpha stage with the third alpha version available at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/370 .
Some of the ideas for version 7, especially with re to notes, etc. seem quite good. There’s also some good discussion about feature development at http://support.biblioscape.com/forum/36 .
In one of the discussions reference was made to IdeaMason 3, and the suggestion was that its reference capability was weak cf Biblioscape.
I wonder if anyone has compared the two programs—either Biblioscape 6, or the intentions for 7 as reflected in the alpha release, to IdeaMason?
Thanks.

Daly,
I compared both when the first alpha was released. I’ve used Biblioscape for awhile in the past, but I found the lack of integration between different modules wanting in the past. This new version was supposed to take care of that deficiency. My initial impression of this new version is that it does to some degree, but comparing to IdeaMason 3 right now, I still found the integration between the modules lacking. Now I’ve been using IM3 for a few months now, and for my need (academic research using APA style), this is as close as it gets to my ideal program. I think Biblioscape offers more styles, but since I only use one style, I find a tighter integration much more valuable (citation, note, composition, ideas, etc).
