For first my very best compliments for this site. it’s terrific for an outliners fan like me.
My advice for all the experts is to take a look to Abstractspoon’s ToDoList
that reached version 6.0 few months ago. In these last years this free software improved alot its qualities and is now a mature application.
It’s an one-pane outliner with alot of features and can be customized like no one other
Highly recommended

To Participants….
Having tried many To Do appl’s across multiple OS’,
is the ONLY one I have found that combines Outlining, Note Modularization, Hierarchical and very granular Task due dating and great export capabilities.
It is on my desert island list of Apps.
Do not be fooled by the UI’s first glance complexity. You will get the hang of it fast and you can tweak it and remap most commands.
If you have tasks that when you start to elaborate them you see emergent Dependencies, TDL is the best I have found.
Donation ware by a dedicated and capable lad from Down Under.

I used it for a while and loved it but eventually moved on because it didn’t have a mobile option. But I liked the interface and how powerful it was and the fast way the filtering of tasks was.
I do see they have added an Android version. But overall, I prefer web based task management systems for my team to connect to so I will stick with Teamwork.

Of course, different needs call for different software.
I was pleased to see the Android version although I don’t really use it. I am not a mobile power-user, I prefer a PC w/ KBoard.
What is very powerful about TDL is the ability to finely control multiple, recurrent Tasks and being able to outline them hierarchically.
I have found no software more compelling in this regard.
And for those concerned with Web-based systems and their inevitable interception by state security entities, the local TDL strongly challenges such services as Evernote - who monetize your life.
