I just heard from Eric they are making progress on their conversion to new database engine, and hopefully we will have a new version out soon.

Thanks, Ken. I haven't checked the email account the list comes in on, so appreciate hearing that a new version will be out soon. I hope with the new database engine that the program is shipshape and ready to release in version 4,

Jan and Ken, I note that ADM has begun selling in China -- but no word exactly when it will begin selling here.
Presumably that is ADM 4 selling in China.
I would hope that those of us in the English hinterland would soon have access to ADM 4.

Daly, how do you "note" this? Is there a new website or d/l URL? If so, could you provide me w this information? TIA

Jan, it was on the group in a post from Eric.
It was also noted that work was continuing on the new data engine.
Perhaps the data engine's Chinese version is already completed, so the Chinese are getting version 4.
Or perhaps the Chinese are getting some version other than 4.
The group has fallen virtually silent, with weeks going by without a single post. I hope this does not mean that interest in ADM 4 had been lost completely.
I hope the English version 4 will be out soon, and that it will be supported in marketing terms by an appropriate web site.

Daly, Are you refering to the development group?
Anyone I know who was interested in ADM has lost interest in the product & moved on for lack of communications & promises not kept. But I hope you're right. I still use it on a daily basis, bugs & all until something better comes along & then I'm going to have problems porting the data to another program but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Yes, that would seem to be the professional approach.

Jan, yes, that's the development group. The post appeared just recently.
What are the people you know moving on to as they lose interest in ADM?
I want to see ADM succeed -- I think it is unique. I think that infatuation with the Chinese market and Skype has cost ADM dearly in terms of the English market, but the Chinese market may be big enough for ADM to dwarf whatever it would have got from the English market.
My mind boggles though that in all the years, even with Arne and his elves helping Eric, that they could never get up a half decent web site -- or that the point could never get across about the need for regular communication.
The paying for what amounts to beta versions of ADM is the same sort of questionable practice that has InfoSelect's business practices so much criticized.
Yet, my hope is that Eric somehow rises above all of this and, what with his enthusiasm and idealism, dazzles us all with a better than ever product.

Zoot, One Note & the infoselect product, Outlook.... anything. They are just generally pissed off at their whole ADM experience.
Added on to that is Eric's --- shall we say personality quirks --- which. IMO. are usually attributable to a less mature individual. He's not even on SKYPE or has changed his ID so I (for one) can't send him msgs even via his vaunted SKYPE comm system. All my emails re: bugs have gone un-answered so I've just stopped. Though I still use the product every day, it's just not worth my time/commitment any more. And frankly I just don't have the patience for the stupidity of it all. It's just not the way to handle people.
Nevertheless, I agree w you on all counts.
