MANY OF THE PEOPLE HERE HAVE BEEN USING PIMS FOR 20 YEARS. NO DOUBT THEY, LIKE ME, TOOK A LONG TIME TO "LEARN THE ROPES." WE HAD ONE ADVANTAGE: PRINTED MANUALS.
OF COURSE, THE GOOD PIMS 20 YEARS AGO WERE EXPENSIVE. I THINK GrandView cost $200-$300. ONE PROBLEM TODAY IS THAT SOME DEVELOPERS (I'm not talking of ones who frequently post here) ARE INCAPABLE OF WRITING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDINARY PEOPLE. I KNOW THIS FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE IN TRYING TO TEACH A DATABASE PROGRAMMER HOW TO WRITE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDINARY USERS. HE JUST COULDN'T DO IT. I ONCE OFFERED TO HELP A DEVELOPER IMPROVE HIS HELP FILE. I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE.

The group dynamics here are so funky it's much more than caricatural only. Almost all
are programmers, etc., but logic ain't the strongest quality for most. Ubiquitous
whining about PIMs and others going bust,

been treated like an idiot here from day 1 ; you and the marketeers here don't
understand that treating like idiots normal people is not going to sell any product.
It's a wonderful exclusivity here, in chatting ; but developers who develop for you,
instead of developing for stupid people like me, are stupid developers, think about
it. But then, whining about defunct software helps your egos, so those developers are
serving the people they falsely assume they are backed by. Developers take YOUR
feedback here, which serves them to avoid their market, and THAT's really funky. This
forum is an outliners graveyard. I might be naive sometimes, but looking out for even
more gross credulity than mine, here you'll find, plenty. Bye.
