Dropbox's Hackpad to be open sourced
8/24/2015
I've played around with Hackpad a little bit. It's not really my preferred type of program, since I don't usually collaborate with others in real time on document creation/editing. I'm more of a tradi...
It must be very tough out there for smaller companies to market their products/systems to the diverse landscape of large & small companies, individual freelancers, and academic/nonprofit users.

Wanted: Daily project logging app
7/27/2015
Thanks! I was thinking that CT was a possibility for this, but I confess I still haven't gotten past the trial version yet. With CT date topics, can you make multiple entries per day?

I've been quite curious about Tinderbox for a while now, but sadly I'm stuck on Windows for the duration...
Wanted: Daily project logging app

Something I've been looking for -- a program for keeping a running log of what I've done each day on a variety of different projects.
I want to make multiple entries per day, with fields such as: Pro...
I've been playing around with draw.io.
It supports saving in several different cloud-based storage systems (Google Drive, Dropbox, or local browser cache). It is very full-featured, but you can easil...
Notebooks 8
4/29/2015
I'm anxiously awaiting the updated Windows release. However, my vote is to maintain some variation on the Notebooks name. It states the function of the software simply and clearly. I wouldn't know wha...
"Explain Like I'm Five": Zettelkasten
4/24/2015
Thank you for that clarification, Dr Andus. So in your CT setup, it appears that you have a markup template when you create a new note. In the case of your quotes archive, you have the quote itself, y...

(A note on this post's title: there is a sub-forum of Reddit called "Explain Like I'm Five," where posters ask to have ideas explained to them in as simple terms as possible.)
I've seen a lot of disc...

Have you tried out the beta of Oinker.me? The nice thing about it is that it supports Markdown, drag & drop for images and video links, and is non-hierarchical and non-linear.
OK, answering my own question here -- It's apparently possible to host the full CT as an HTML document with supporting files/images in one's Public Dropbox folder. This way, I can read it on my iPhone...
Hmmm... Is there some way to continuously publish the CT database as HTML to a Public Dropbox folder?
That way I can pull up the URL on my phone when I need to look at old info. Then I can just use a...
Yes and unfortunately I do not use MacOS at all at the moment. Plus I'm not on wi-fi on the work computer because everything is on a pretty high-security hard wired intranet. Back to the drawing board...
Thanks for this breakdown of options!
You know, I think it's possible that PiggyDB might be the solution for me, although I still have to figure out how mobile support might work...
Is there anything that has the power and flexibility of ConnectedText (image support, extremely robust markup options) but which I can access and/or update from my mobile device?
As has been discuss...

Yes, ...
I'm a big fan of Workflowy and I took a look at this with some excitement, but unfortunately it doesn't appear to offer much that Workflowy doesn't already. The Google Drive backup is a nice touch, bu...
