TiddlyWiki resurgent 10/17/2017
Strange, re: broken links Manfred Kühn wrote about this limitation in TW (http://takingnotenow.blogspot.de/2017/01/a-tiddlywiki-limitation.html). One of the comments says that the limitation has...
TiddlyWiki resurgent 10/17/2017
Bill, your post inspired me to give TW a try. I use it to collect thoughts on 2 subjects - the idea is to think them through by writing and linking thoughts. One thing I failed to find a solution to:...

Parallels Desktop 13 9/21/2017
Thanks, Paul. I upgraded. Coherence mode works, and my word-processor Textmaker does not seem to be as sluggish as Word 2016 (for Windows) used to be in Parallels 12. Almost 50% speed increase in Wi...
Parallels Desktop 13 9/19/2017
No problem, Hugh. Being confused with Steven is no offence, it's flattery :-)
Parallels Desktop 13 9/19/2017
Thanks Ken. I didn't know about the improved Coherence mode. In fact, it was useless in vs12. If it works in vs13, that's good news and might be worth the update.
Parallels Desktop 13 9/19/2017
Thanks Paul. (Not the answer I hoped for - but that's not your fault :-) )
Parallels Desktop 13 9/19/2017
Hi. Is anybody using Parallels Desktop 13? How fast is it compared to the previous version? I consider upgrading as vs12 is awfully slow on my Mac Mini (despite 16 GB RAM). They promise 47% faster ac...
Any Windows users here ? 9/11/2017
>Still on W7 Pro, but this will be useful when I eventually migrate. Ken: God Mode also works in Windows 7. It's the same folder name as in Windows 10.
Any Windows users here ? 9/3/2017
I use mostly Windows 10 and iOS 9; and from time to time MacOS Sierra (depending on the job I'm doing).
Notebooks as a Ulysses replacement 8/18/2017

Ulysses, infected by a trendy virus, changes to all-Subscription model 8/10/2017
In fact the yearly fee is $40 - meaning $20 for customers.
CRIMPers = prospective time multipliers? 7/12/2017
Alexander: Thanks for the hint to Dr. Fogg. To quote from his site: "Only three things will change behavior in the long term. Option A. Have an epiphany Option B. Change your environment (what surr...
CRIMPers = prospective time multipliers? 7/12/2017
With regard to "lack of discipline". As a coach I've been working with a lot of people - often writers in trouble or procrastinating writers. Many of them told me they lacked discipline, stamina or wi...
CRIMPers = prospective time multipliers? 7/8/2017
Well, I don't think that CRIMPing qualifies as "procrastinating on purpose" - at least as Rory Vaden sees it. :-) Interesting video, though.
Notebooks as DayOne replacement 7/2/2017
Sorry, forgot to add the link to the correct page (the "official" link on Alfons' website is broken): http://www.notebooksapp.com/ios/protection/
Notebooks as DayOne replacement 7/2/2017
Just discovered that you can password-protect notebooks on iOS - but not on Windows or MacOS. :-(

What would keep me from using NB as journal: no encryption.
Airstory - Appsumo deal 6/27/2017
Thanks for your thoughts, Steve and Hug. It's not my first team-writing project but the first with my better half. To reduce friction we decided on strict division of responsibilities and plan to wor...
Airstory - Appsumo deal 6/27/2017
Steve, I just started such a writing project (with my wife). And I think we'll stick with what she is comfortable with, which is Word (plus Scrivener on my machine for structuring the project).
Airstory - Appsumo deal 6/26/2017
Hi there. Appsumo has a special deal for Airstory - which seems to be some sort of Scrivener on the web (plus templates, plus multiuser capabilities, plus...): http://www.appsumo.com/airstory/ Has a...
Not totally outliner-focused, but nifty 6/10/2017
Steve. The only problem I see with syncing between various OSses: If you use the file encryption feature of CloudMounter, you won't be able to open the files on Windows or the iPad. Franz
iOS 11 -- a CRIMP is coming on 6/7/2017
Grrr ... I bought a refurbished iPad 4 a few months ago. Not supported by iOS 11.
