Hyper Plan is an undiscovered gem. I use it as an early warning system for bills on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles. When I pay a bill, I don’t change its status to paid or anything like checking it off as done. I right click it and use the “shift date” feature to kick it a month (or quarter, or year) down the road.
On any unrelated note, I see Yojimbo is in Winterfest. I haven’t downloaded it because I thought it might be an app on life support.
What say the luminaries here? Does Yojimbo fill a niche?
I’m very interested in note taking apps that do not use any particular sync. My USB stick serves me well.

Yojimbo was a competitive app two(?) decade ago, and then it was abandoned for far too long (and left with database bugs which sent away some former hardcore users, like Dave Hamilton of TheMacObserver). Development has been renewed in recent years but I still don’t think it’s caught up with the competition.
What’s more interesting to me is that the same dev is discounting their macOS text processing app BBEdit, which is a pretty rare event. I’ve used BBedit for its powerful GREP search/replace for more than 25 years. If it weren’t for the rise of Markdown (and cross-platform apps like Ulysses) I’d probably still be using it for writing.
If you’re intrigued by the abilities of Yojimbo you might instead want to look at EagleFiler.
