Zoho – Thank you, Steve, for mentioning it.
I’d never heard of Zoho (from India), but very impressive website!
I don’t mean impressive for web design gimmicks, but impressive for clear presentation of a massive amount of detailed information.
One of the clearest descriptions I’ve ever seen for any software, let alone highly complex Software As A Service (SAAS).
And videos surprisingly helpful: short, concise, move quickly. (Suggestion: watch at 0.25 speed, sound muted.)
Plus, hardly any “virtue signalling” nonsense.
(In fact, one video shows a quote from Ayn Rand! Imagine that in today’s corporate world!)

Zoho is aimed at businesses, but modules are available for individuals.
I’ve just signed up for the email module.

For those of us who are security-minded, it’s possible to do semi-anonymous sign-up.
I used an IP in Europe.
Phone number in Asia (for two-factor authentication).
Masked email from USA.
And a fake name.
Zoho didn’t even gulp.
More security: email encryption available with S/MIME.
The email interface can be combination of conventional text plus social networking features.
I’ve never seen anything like that before.

They also offer a notebook module:

For single users, module subscriptions are very low cost, US$1-5/month.
Of course, heavy-duty corporate functions cost more.
Next I’ll look at Zoho’s document storage/retrieval options.
Wondering if they offer an alternative to DEVONthink.
