I use RightNote for this (and everything else)

Thanks for these suggestions. I’ve tried RightNote and Joplin. RightNote is usually pretty good, but it sometimes has trouble with columns and pictures. Joplin’s Firefox extension - which it admits is a beta - is all over the map in terms of performance, sometimes good and sometimes really bad. It would be useful if there was a single piece of software that worked equally well with all web-pages, but I suspect there is too much difference in the way pages are designed.

If you use Firefox: Give the SingleFile extension a try. It packs all the content of a web page into a single HTML file (that can be opened using any web browser). I haven’t seen a web page that SingleFile was not able to capture correctly.

There are several nice options on macOS: Bear, Quiver, UpNote all have great clippers (Bear’s is especially good).
It’s also worth checking out the Evernote clipper (available for most browser platforms), which is pretty good.

Thank you for recommending the SingleFile extension - it works great! I’m going to use it to store html pages directly in TheBrain (with all page content indexed!)
