Strange Ad Behavior

Lately, when I click on the first post that I want to read, a large ad window pops up. This does not happen again, but I am wondering if anybody else is seeing this behavior. I am using Chrome on a Win10 Pro machine, and I have run both an AV and a malware scan with both appearing clean. I am not having any other odd behavior that would lead me to believe an infection occurred, but I thought I would ask.
Thanks,
—Ken

I’ve had this happen both in Chrome on the desktop, and on mobile. It seems to be deliberate ad behavior, not malicious. I’m sure there’s a difference there somewhere.

Yes, I have seen this behaviour over the last few days. I’ve assumed that it’s a price we pay for the benefits this site provides.

I haven’t changed anything recently, but I’ll take a look at the ad settings and see if I can prevent this. I don’t like ads that block the content you are trying to read.

Much appreciated, Chris. I do not mind an ad if it “keeps the lights on”, but I was wondering if there had been changes.
